We thrive to provide the time, space, materials and guidance needed by children to optimize their play experience. Children can only realize their fullest potential if they are able to develop a positive self-image. Children thrive in our environment because there are parent volunteers who like, understand, and respect them, and they have a safe, stimulating and supportive environment for them to learn and grow.

Play is the most effective means available to young children to accomplish integration and growth. Parenting young children is a challenging role, the skills of parenting can be shared and learned, facilitating a positive passage for both parent and child through this most important stage of a child's life.
Services
A team of teachers staff our school, with one serving as Director. Each member of our staff has completed Early Childhood Education coursework, is credentialed and has years of experience working with children. The teachers also act as advisors and consultants to the parent board. Selection of the staff is made jointly by the parent group and the school district administration.
If we have to do restrictive then see 2s Program for 2020/2021 for an idea of what it might be. Indoor and outdoor play available almost every day to foster large and small motor development. Cupertino Co-op offers parents the excitement of sharing the preschool experience with their children and making lifelong friendships through volunteering.
At first, when we looked into CCNS, the level of commitment required by the families stumped me. However, I was amazed by the variety of activities, and how happy the kids appeared. I had visited other preschools but there seemed to be something absent. A news reporter featured me on the front cover of the San Jose Mercury news asking me how the pressures were to 'choose' a preschool.
In 2019 our very own Teacher Jennie won the CCPPNS Teacher award for her outstanding service to our cooperative school. In 2015 our very own Teacher Monica and Teacher Jeanette won the CCPPNS Teacher award for their outstanding service to our cooperative school. The City of Sunnyvale has selected our Director, Michelle Edgecumbe, to receive their 2013 Outstanding Educator Award!

We love this school. I enrolled her during pandemic and they provided online class and toy/art material pick up day. Their art activities are process oriented, creative and fun. We had so much fun things together even while we stuck at home. Their play area is big and safe enough to have a whole morning session when in person class started. All the teachers are loving, caring and patient. They always use positive words that has a magic to solve the problems. Not only my daughter I enjoy the school. I feel fortunate to be a part of this community that care about each other especially during pandemic

This preschool is amazing. I am so blessed that my parents were able to enroll me in this school for 3 years. I graduated about 9 years ago and I can't stop thinking about my teachers and friends. My family has had a great experience with this school. All my siblings went, and we all made life long friends that I still stay in contact with till this day. The pets, activites, gentle rules, everything was amazing. And I constantly think of my teachers, teacher Monica and Michelle. I love them so much, and can't thank them enough for everything. I still remember my nickname I had. "little Hana" I

This school is so aligned with my values as a parent and as a human being, I almost find myself taking its existence for granted. Almost. If you have a child approaching preschool age, and want to learn more about the parent participation co-op model -- come visit our school and observe first-hand the power of simple wisdom like "children are people" and "play is learning".
And be prepared to reassure your child as you leave your tour that "yes, you can come back here". I have yet to see a child visit CCNS and leave willingly. (Parents leave reluctantly too -- if I had a dollar for every time

The minute you walk through the doors of CCNS you can feel the magic of what an amazing school it is. The campus is a hidden gem for your children to explore, learn and make life long friends. Not only will you and you’re children fall in love with amazing teachers but also the play based way of learning. There is so much for your kids to discover from art, music, science, gardening, wood work and animals! Sensory stations for the children to feel and play structures for your child to gain balance and physical awareness that their growing bodies crave. Personally, I am so grateful I enrolled

CCNS is a great play-based, parent-participation preschool with a strong community and loving teachers. Everything is really well-organized including all the toys, games, books, art supplies, etc. The big backyard is a great outdoor space for kids to play in... there is sand for digging, bikes or riding, and play structures for climbing, swinging, and sliding. There are pets like guinea pigs, fish, chickens, and bunnies. Both my daughters LOVED the bunnies. The family events organized by the school is like an optional party every month and the parent education speakers they bring in are very relevant

If there were more than five stars, I'd give them!
We got five precious years at this school - two with my daughter and three with my son. It is the most amazing place, and having your kids spend their young years here is the greatest gift you can give them and the absolute best start in their 'education.'
The teachers are stellar, and really go above and beyond. They don't treat their work at CCNS as a job, but like a calling! They are excellent educators and excellent humans.
As parents, you'll learn so much about parenting, and gain a community of other parents going through similar struggles
