Unlike most 7th graders, Lowell MacDonald already knew what he wanted to be when he grew up. His basketball/baseball coach owned a funeral home and the profession intrigued young Lowell. He asked so many questions that the coach finally asked Lowell 's parents if the boy could come to the funeral home one Saturday to learn what the business was all about.

Lowell J. MacDonald, is President and Funeral Director of the MacDonald Funeral Home. Lowell was born in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada. He was raised in Connecticut, attending parochial schools and two years of high school in Naugatuck, CT before locating to Clearwater, Florida in 1977 and graduating at Clearwater High School in 1979.

From my first call to MacDonald services, Lowell and Ron were professional, and showed empathy. My father recently passed and each phone call was informative, and supportive. My questions were answered quickly and every detail was handled with professionalism, and respect for my father, and our family. My family and I experienced an unimaginable loss and Ron and Mr. Mcdonald went above and beyond. In the hardest parts of this situation they always did they're best to make sure all went smooth on their end. I'm truly greatful for the help they provided to our family in getting us through this death. Its hard losing anyone but working with this great funeral home made the stress of it a bit less. Lowell MacDonald is the sweetest person I know in this business! He went out of his way to make sure my Dad had the best funeral he could have! Everyone was so touched with the whole service and we couldn't be more pleased with all this virus stuff rules and still got to give him what he deserved as a Navy Vet. Lowell and staff at MacDonald Funeral Home handled my mother's remains and helped with the funeral arrangements at Florida National Cemetary. My family and I have been involved in the arrangements of other funerals in Tampa and Orlando, most notably my father in Tampa. MacDonald though a humble family operation (they are always better) blows away all the other funeral homes in Tampa and Orlando combined. They are respectful, first class and Lowell handled things that my sister and i had to handle for my father's funeral (the military aspect) that I just couldnt seem to do this time around. Thanks
