Kim has been doing alterations and tailoring for women and men for over 30 years. During the 80's, in Vietnam, she started her own business and also taught more than 70 students in tailoring. Many of those students successfully started their own tailoring and alterations businesses in Vietnam. Some are living here in the United States and working in alterations departments across the country.
Arriving in Cincinnati late 1990, Kim started doing alterations for wedding gowns and formal wear in the Reading Bridal District. After a few years, she moved to an upscale department store, Parisian, in Kenwood mall, and worked there for 10 years. During the time at Parisian, she was summoned many times to travel to nearby states to make difficult alterations.

Loved the alteration I got at Kim Dao's - showed up on a Tuesday over lunch and was in and out in under 15 minutes!
Came in, tried on my dress, Kim marked where I needed to get it altered and then I was on my way!
She quoted a fair price for the work needed and I was able to come back in 2 weeks to pick up.
Upon picking up the dress looked in great shape and altered correctly.
The dress was not steamed/pressed put that was easy to do at home myself.
Will definitely be back for more alterations !

I needed to alter a pair of pants, dress shirt, and bodysuit for an upcoming wedding and found the reviews of Miss Kim's shop very positive and they're all true! She's efficient, professional, trusted, a visionary, provides a great value at a great cost and has definitely become my go-to place for alterations. Couldn't say enough positive things about this place; I'd definitely suggest it for anyone who's looking to alter every day clothes or clothes for special events.

Got a bridesmaid dress done here. Value was great for the awesome skill she has. I went just to get the length done, thinking there was nothing that could be done for an otherwise unflattering gown (you know how bridesmaids dresses are). Miss Kim was able to make alterations while I was standing there in the store and trying the dress on to make little changes that made it actually fit and look flattering.

My regular tailor was out on vacation this week so I explored Kim Dao’s for the first time. Amazing work in a short period of time. I brought a shirt made out of a very fragile material and Kim Dao’s was able to do a fabulous job on the many alterations I required. They essentially remade the entire shirt in every measurement – a very difficult alteration. Also, it was a friendly experience in the store. I am officially converted over to Kim’s – the best and most-skilled Cinci has to offer!

I had a great experience at Kim Daos alterations. I live downtown, so the walk to court st was easy for me. They are open every day but Sunday 12-4PM, and answered my phone call when I had a question before noon which was helpful. They were very attentive to the alterations of a bridesmaids dress, and the process took a little over two weeks. It was $25 per layer of fabric, and they prefer cash payments. I will be back here - they are friendly and know what they're doing.

I would NOT recommend to come here for any type of bridal alterations I can’t believe they were recommended by The Knot. I called to see about making an appointment for alterations and I was told to walk in anytime and when I did it was rushed and the seamstress seemed irritated and not the best attitude. I was constantly told what couldn’t be done instead of what could. Total waste of time and very unprofessional.

I had a wonderful experience here! I got my summer dress hemmed and taken in from Ms. Dao and it looks perfect! You can tell she pays attention to the little details. She tailored the dress to fit my petite frame :)

Kim is a dress-magician! She hemmed my gown and moved the snap on the chest. The magic was how she subtly gathered the chest area to make it hug my top perfectly. Her shop is clean, the service was quick, parking pretty easy (I went early in the week around 1pm) and she is so affordable compared to others! Definitely highly recommend and will be coming to her for all future alterations!

I am more than please with how my gown turned out. She hemmed three layers of fabric and tightened the bust area for me within 2 weeks. Price was very fair and she was so kind towards me throughout the entire experience. She also seemed very honest about what she can or cannot do based on the fabric. When I went to pick up my dress, she gave me some recommendations on how to hang my dress to avoid pulling at the straps (which are beaded). Really cannot recommend her enough!

I have a slightly noticeable leg length discrepancy and my pants were adjusted for a slim-fit tapered leg that showed the perfect amount of shoe when worn with suspenders. It's always tough to find a good tailor at the right price. In my case, I moved back to Cincinnati after several years away, and wasn't quite sure where to start. I found Kim Dao's on Yelp, and they haven't disappointed. I've brought in jackets, pants, and vests for alterations, and they're always done on time and with great care. They listen to your needs and make sure that everything is perfect; And their prices are quite reasonable, especially considering the degree of difficulty of particular alterations. I've definitely found my go-to!

If you need something altered, hemmed, stitched, fixed, the woman is a damn wizard. I have taken 3 different dresses to her, including my wedding dress, and she is cordial, skilled, and an honest businesswoman. She will tell you truthfully if an item can be altered. If she truly doesn't believe that it can, she will be straightforward about that.
Depending on the garment, expect a 2 week turnaround. Bring check or cash for payment, or head down to the PNC ATM about 2 storefronts away.

Kim did amazing work on my expensive wedding dress !! It had about 5 layers and she made it fit my body perfect! She also worked on my sisters dress (maid of honor) and it also came out perfect.
