Starting with a dream in the early 80s, Mr. Chester Kurk and son-in-law, Michael McGinley, collaborated with backgrounds in engineering and corporate management to form an idea that would later become Kurk Homes. Although Michael (Dad) was related to Dziadzi (Polish name for our grandfather) only by marriage, they fed off each other in terms of business.
Dziadzi would evaluate the foundations and framing structure. Dad would listen to the customers and learn what they wanted in a home, so they could provide the right product. Dziadzi and Dad kept planning, and saving. They would spend hours researching the market, and figure out their next steps well ahead of time.

In 2009 I had chosen Kurk Homes to build my custom home here in Montgomery, TX because of how well managed they were with documentation outlining exact details of what was included in the building process. Over 10 years have now passed and I am still in awe how well everything is holding up inside and out.(knock on wood). Even with a massive 20' plus ceiling and flagstone hearth reaching to the very top, I have had literally zero issues. Even with very little maintenance everything looks just as good as when purchased. I am so glad I went with you guys and the 2x6 exterior walls really do provide

In late 2020, we moved into a new house built by Kurk Homes in Texas Grand Ranch. The home is beautiful; and the layout and square footage really works well for us. There were zero weather-related issues during the February 2021 snow storm thanks to the construction design.

We purchased an almost completed spec home from Kurk in April of this year. They were extremely easy to work with and so friendly! We have had a couple of minor warranty issues and they are super quick to respond, scheduling contractors to come at your availability. We are so happy with our Kurk home! We just had Kurk Homes build a 4000 square-foot custom home on our lot, and as far as homebuilding goes, it went pretty smoothly! The home is stunning and we get compliments on it all the time, from both people who come over to visit as well as people who have just driven by and seen it. Kurk Homes really takes pride in their product. I was lucky enough to buy a spec home of theirs in the Heights (Houston). From the moment we walked into the house we absolutely loved it. It had a lot of upgrades you don't normally find in a spec home. The inspection report came out really clean and they fixed any issues we had either from the inspection or the blue tape walk thru. After we moved in, we had a couple of minor issues. We worked directly with Eli, their warranty manager, who was very polite, professional, and went above and beyond to keep us happy.

We have just moved into our new Kurk Home on Lake Livingston. We are extremely happy with the design, quality, and workmanship which was put into the home by Kurk Home Builders. We were especially pleased with the assistance provided to design the house to meet our exact needs and desire to take maximum advantage of the great lake view. We love our custom Kurk home in the Boerne hill country! Working with Larry Rice and his assistant Lorenzo Pirritano was a really nice experience. Both are extremely professional. Both went out of their way accommodating us in all the building phases. Even when our home was completed Lorenzo went above and beyond to help us resolve a repair issue with our GE gas range. (.....take my advice and DO NOT purchase GE appliances, horrible service)

Completely unrealistic on pricing that they tell you about during the pre-sale, you only learn about the true price after you give them the $2,500. Once they come back with the price that is $40 per square foot more than the original quote, for a house with no special features, they then tell you that the $2,500 has all been used up by the "designer's" time, despite it being a few simple drawings with no real detail, and it would not have taken many alterations had they actually listened to what we wanted.

We completed a custom home with Kurk Homes 2015. We are very satisfied with our home, and feel that it has many unique features (beautiful Austin limestone stonework, a hand built craftsman stairway, custom transom windows) that we would not have gotten with many custom builders in this price range. We live near Houston's inner loop. Kurk homes built our home with pride. We have been in the home for over a year and have been very happy. Today being out of our warranty period we had a problem. I contacted Chris McGinley by email and within a short period had a response with a resolution. Two hours later I left my home with the problem resolved. Had serious problems just in design. A six month-long process ending in parting ways. They may be fine for spec homes, loved their design center, but they're trying to also do custom homes in Hill Country, which applies to me. Their design process entailed two staff departures, making me start over with new reps, three reps in total over 6 months. The communication with these reps was very poor, very little engagement in hearing the client's needs and navigating "design implications and options."
