Services
Responsible for providing a variety of paying and receiving functions for members in person and via phone. Accepts cash and check deposits, accurately and efficiently processes withdrawals and cashes checks within authority level, loan payments, cashiers' checks, money orders and cash advances. Proactively participates in cross-selling of Credit Union products and services.
If your local branch is unexpectedly closed, branches in other cities may be open. Online and mobile banking, many ATMs and our Call Center are available 24/7. APCO Employees Credit Union participates in the CO-OP Shared Branching network. You have access at more than 5,000 other participating credit union locations across the country.
To do so, we are sometimes required to share information about you with others in order to complete your transactions or to provide certain financial opportunities. To protect your privacy, we have always limited the use of information we provide and only share information with companies that agree to maintain your privacy.
As an APCO Employees Credit Union member age 18 or older you can help protect your family's financial future with Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance underwritten by Minnesota Life Insurance Company. You cannot be turned down for the Credit Union Paid Coverage - or any additional coverage you may select.
An employee or retiree of Alabama Power Company, Southern Company Services, Southern Nuclear or other affiliated companies of the Southern Company. Your membership is for a lifetime. It is not affected by a job change, retirement or place of residence. The only requirement is that you keep at least $25 in your regular share (savings) account and continue to use our services.

Not a good place for a long term savings account. A savings account is a place where your money can be kept safely, if they see no money added or withdrawn over a couple of months, they start charging a "fee" until the account is drained dry. The whole point of the account is to keep my money safe there. This should serve as an indicator to the type of bank this is.

So far I am not very impressed with this credit union. I am not sure if it is just the person that we dealt with or the entire credit union. We made an appointment to do an auto loan and it felt like the initial person that helped us at the Clanton branch talked down to us the entire time. We had to leave and get some additional documentation, which was fine, but we were not given all of the information that we needed. I had called to double check to see what we needed and so it was ready when we came back to the branch. When we came back to the branch a couple of days later I was told that we

Got a mortgage through APCU a year ago, the loan officer I worked with wasn't helpful and actually lost my paperwork which delayed the closing by 3 months. I don't have other accounts there but since then I have gone in for a couple of things and the people have been helpful (that's why I'm giving 2 stars). Hopefully my experience was isolated and they fired the person who screwed up my account.
