At Camp Tall Timbers, we've been serving up fun and rewarding camp experiences every summer for over 50 years. Located in the beautiful foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Camp Tall Timbers is a convenient drive from Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Washington DC, and Dulles Airport. Our camp offers a wide variety of entertaining, engaging, and inspiring activities for boys and girls from ages 7 to 16.
Our camp experience promotes independence, decision making, socialization, skill-building, confidence, creativity, and self-discovery in a safe and nurturing environment. Services
Camp Tall Timbers opened in 1970 with founder Jerry Smith at the helm. Jerry purchased the 120-acre property and developed camp from the ground up. He has seen more than 10,000 campers thrive during their summers at CTT! Now retired from camp life, "Uncle" Jerry has handed the reins over to his son, Glenn Smith.
Our program offers 3 and 2 weeks sessions- a session to meet the needs of all our campers. Camp Tall Timbers is a blend of traditional and child-centered programming, which promotes independence, decision-making and exploration. Campers create their own schedules and manage their time in a well-supervised environment.
Camp Tall Timbers is pleased to announce registration is open and active for the summer of 2022. After discussions, consultations with health professionals and protocols decided, we have developed a path for the safe opening of Camp Tall Timbers. At Camp Tall Timbers, we believe that a great summer camp experience has never been more relevant than right now! Camp brings our children closer to nature and fosters social and emotional development while encouraging independence, resiliency, empathy, and adaptability. Our campers tell us over and over that the experiences they had at CTT and the life-long friendships they made have helped them become the successful adults they are today.
We offer a wide variety of activities for our campers to choose from. Choice is an important part of our program. We take the time to individually schedule each of our campers so that their program is unique to them. This allows for a camper to be motivated to participate, learn and enjoy their daily program.
