Premiere Training for Sport Performance and Personal Training in the South Hills of Pittsburgh. Become Better Sport Performance and Personal Training was started by Dan Knorr in late 2013 with only a few clients of his own. Over the years, Dan gained many clients through word of mouth, contacting local volleyball teams, and teaching Olympic weight lifting classes.
Personal Training is for those who would like some assistance in achieving specific fitness goals. These goals can vary from losing weight, gaining muscle and becoming stronger, improving cardiovascular health, increase flexibility and range of motion, or simply to just feel more comfortable and confident when performing daily activities.
Semi-Private Training offers all the same benefits as Personal Training, but instead of working 1-1 with one of our expert trainers, you will be working out alongside other individuals who are also semi-private clients. Your workout will still be 100% individualized to meet your specific needs and goals and can be modified at any time.
Our Personal Training programs for seniors are tailored towards older individuals. As we get older, we tend to have more physical limitations, our trainers make lots of modifications in order to account for these limitations and successfully complete each workout. We take extraordinary care with our clients to make sure they learn how to properly execute every exercise and progress steadily as they better their lives.

Dan and his team are amazing! They make working out so fun and enjoyable. They are with you through your entire workout to motivate, coach, and give you constructive criticism. I trust them with any of my questions, and know their knowledge outweighs the rest. Plus, sometimes you’ll get a demo - and that’s always fun. I would 10/10 recommend them for their gym, the atmosphere they’ve created, and the programs they write for you individually.

I had the pleasure of meeting Dan and his team today, learn a lot about the company and their experience, and it seemed like a great place for all fitness applications. He and his team are very nice, very knowledgeable, and I felt right at home just spending my first evening at their fitness center. To the over 60 crowd: I had never set foot in a gym in my life, and chose this facility because of it’s relatively small size, ability to train one on one, and recommendations. I coach volleyball in the area year round. I've sent both high school and club players to train with Dan at Become Better SPPT, and I cannot recommend his services enough.
I've seen him produce great improvements in the athleticism, strength, and specifically jump power of so many of my athletes. I watch high school players get stronger year after year of training with him, and I watch club players jumping noticeably higher after just a short club season of working with Dan.

All of the trainers have been excellent in helping both of my children with their workouts. They make it where the kids choose to go and don’t feel forced to go. Become Better is a great place for all ages and those in various stages of their fitness journey. Prior to coming here, I hadn’t worked out in 5 years and had no desire to start. After finding out that I had high cholesterol, I decided to give this place a try. The trainers are all experienced and very easy to work with. They even make workouts fun for fully grown adults. Even after just a few months, I’ve seen obvious positive results and feel better than I have in years.

I’ve been working with Dan and his team at Become Better for several months, and I can highly recommend to anyone wanting to improve their fitness level. Dan and trainers Nik and Joey are motivating and encouraging. Workouts are never boring but are constantly changing and challenging you. As a volleyball player, I started working out with Dan to improve my vertical. In 5 months with him thus far, not only have I seen my jumping ability improve (3"), my overall strength has increased as well [I have seen an 11 pound increase in muscle). Dan has also kept me focused on my goals making it easy to stay on track. I have told myself in the past I would make a routine and work out regularly, but now I have finally been able to do so.

I started with Become Better Sports Performance & Personal Training about one year ago. Dan has be an excellent coach since day one. I suffer from a back injury that limited my ability to lift the way I was used to. One of the first things Dan asked me when I started was what my fitness goals were, and I said to be able to squat and dead lift again. Dan assured me that if I was patient and put in the time he would have me back to doing these exercises in no time! Sure enough a year later, not only can I perform these exercises, I can perform them at a weight I never thought I would reach again

I came to Become Better with physical limitations due to surgery. I was met with a variety of workouts aimed at increasing balance, shoulder range of motion, stronger abs, strength in arms, legs and back. I was gently pushed beyond goals I achieved. I feel infinitely stronger having completed almost two years in training. After years of trying and failing to maintain a fitness routine I finally found one that stuck with Dan. I’ve had good and bad trainers over the years and Dan is by far the best. His innate ability to be whatever type of trainer his client needs set him apart from rest.
