Katherine Nies created a classical piano mashup inspired by "Rosemary" & "Dark Star" and Charlottesville Ballet company artist Cassidy Burk created choreography to the new score. This year, we reunited the artists Katherine Nies and Cassidy Burk along with videographer Sophie Brande to create a digital performance created inside The Looking Glass, an immersive art space at the IX Art Park.
Charlottesville Ballet utilizes Patron Technology, an online software and consulting company that serves the arts and non-profit industries with cutting-edge technology and e-marketing expertise. Originally from New York, Sara trained at the Ballet School of New York under the direction of Diana Byer and Sallie Wilson. In 2001, she graduated from the Professional Children's School in New York City and began to dance professionally with New York Theatre Ballet. While dancing with NYTB, Sara had the opportunity to tour the United States and perform at the Florence Gould Hall in New York City.
Charlottesville Ballet's Trainee Program offers a personal approach to help dancers transition from advanced students into professional artists. The ultimate goal of the program is to offer dancers a healthy environment in which they can refine the skills of technique, artistry, and performance required for a career in dance.

Positive: Professionalism
My children have learned a ton, not just about dancing, but about being a member of a community, here. The instructors truly care about each dancer's well being and making the experience of dance fulfilling. And, of course, the instruction is excellent.

CBA is a warm, welcoming and supportive dance school. Almost everyone in our family dances now - even this 40-something mommy who had never danced a day in her life. The performance opportunities w/ a professional company are a major plus too... We feel very grateful to have discovered this dance school!
