Epic Chiropractic & Sports Therapy has been providing quality chiropractic care in Sacramento since 1942. We specialize in auto accident care, sports injuries, movement assessment, nutritional therapies, and myofascial release techniques. Located in the Arden area of Sacramento, we are centrally located and have convenient hours of operation.
Using a combination of orthopedic, neurologic, and functional movement assessment we will identify faulty movement patterns, neurological deficit, and joint / soft tissue dysfunction in order to recommend the appropriate treatment plan. The goal of this phase is to reduce pain, inflammation, and restore full range of motion of the affected structures.

Services
Dr. Shanks was born in Half Moon Bay and raised in Sacramento. She received Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Psychology from California State University Sacramento. Her research thesis was in Sleep and Dreams, with her Master's thesis in psychosomatic conditions of anxiety. She received her doctorate degree in Chiropractic Studies from Cleveland Chiropractic College, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 1979.

I have been a patient for roughly 10 or so years now. I have to say that I always feel welcomed and at home when I visit the office. I have been Dr. Shank's patient but have also been treated by her sons Jesse and Dan as well. The office atmosphere is always very welcoming and kind. All the staff, including the doctors, are patient and take the time to listen to you. I appreciate that I have never felt rushed when I come here. I was in so much pain.my backhand my hamstring. could not walk without cane... I called 3 chiropractors. they all gave me appointments a week latter.. finally I spoke with Ashley and I told her I'm in pain. she set me up the same day... Dr. Jesse is wonderful.. a great chiropractor and sports medicine therapist.. at epic chiropractor they have many modern machines to help u heal fast.. today I saw Dr. Daniel.. also wonderful.. I will not go anywhere else

Early August I hurt lower back while working out and lifting heavy weights. I rested for a couple days and though I’d be okay. Well things didn’t get better and I decided to look up a chiropractor at first I was going to go to any ordinary chiropractor but I decided to choose to go to a sports chiropractor to see if they better understood my problem. I went in and met Dr. Saenz he helped me out by adjusting me, giving me good advice and stretching methods that should be performing. I took his advice and kept going week to week and I feel way better overall I’m glad I decided to choose Epic

100% hands down Jesse saved my thanksgiving! After spending a day in the ER, tons of meds & 4 days lying down unable to stand or sit & just crying in immense pain just 1 session with Jesse I was 80% better! I cannot thank him enough!!!!!! He is so knowledgeable about all things chiropractic. He's warm, sweet, funny & personable! I'm now a firm believer in chiropractic medicine!!!!
