Rachel Fletcher, also known as Knox Upholstery, didn't grow up in the trade, she's self-made. She practiced, cracked open books, watched videos, found a community full of educators and learned from their expertise - she honed her skills. After obtaining a B.A. in Communications and spending a few years in marketing and advertising, Rachel chose the furniture upholstery trade to dedicate her working life to.
Knox Upholstery is a one-woman shop. Rachel is stripping the piece all the way down to the frame and building it back up again, personally. Your cushions, skirt and panels aren't being sewn by someone else, Rachel is constructing and machining them, herself. She's pattern matching and upholstering it with care, creativity and the utmost attention to detail.

Rachel at Knox Upholstery did a masterful job of reviving a vintage Home Crest fiberglass sofa that had lost its original cushions. She was patient during the fabric selection phase as I was determined to find the right fabric at my pricepoint, so it took some time. Lucky for me, Rachel knows her fabric and was able to score the perfect material and I couldn't be happier. The results beyond exceeded my expectations! WORTH. EVERY. PENNY.

Rachel Fletcher is the bees knees. Her comprehensive knowledge and experience is impressive. Her attention to detail sets her apart and when you’re dealing with upholstery, the details are the important component. She is communicative, fair on pricing and sets realistic expectations in terms of her turnaround times. Rachel is an exceptional upholsterer and Knoxville is lucky to have her! Rachel does an amazing job! She has done two projects for us (recovered dining room chairs and barstools) and done a beautiful job with them. She is efficient, honest and dependable in addition to doing a top notch job on her upholstery work! Would only use her for this kind of work.

Rachel did an outstanding job on our family heirloom, an 1880’s Eastlake wingtip chair. Great Uncle William’s invalid’s chair was a little threadbare and lumpy although it had always been treasured for well over a century. Rachel’s careful restoration and amazing skill, including rows of covered buttons, in addition to her guidance in fabric selection shows that she is the consummate professional. She also has a delightful personality that makes working with her a pleasure.

I can not recommend Rachel enough!!! She was so fantastic to work with and transformed two pieces of furniture for me! Her work is absolutely amazing! I have my Duncan Phyfe sofa in my living room. Every time I walk in the room I smile! It is beautiful!!! My goose neck chair is in my bedroom and I love it! I look forward to working with Rachel again!

Rachel did an amazing job reupholstering my dining room chairs. We had some delays choosing fabric remotely (not her fault at all), but she was very patient, and even set up an account with an additional fabric company to accommodate what I was looking for. The work is flawless. In addition to the upholstery itself, she found a crack in one chair that I didn’t even realize was there, and fixed that, too. Could not recommend this business more strongly or enthusiastically!
