Services
For an upfront Tasting with no commitment, a Tasting is $25 for two people, using three regular cake flavors at two cupcakes per flavor. If expensive or unusual ingredients are used per your request, such as alcohol, it will be an additional cost and not credited back toward your cake order. Once your cake is Booked the tasting fee (minus extra expenses for things like alcohol or expensive chocolate) is credited back towards your cake order.
We use Swiss fondant, Swiss white chocolate fondant, and American Buttercream icing as outside coverings. We use fondant, sugar paste, modeling chocolate, rice krispie treats, and cake for modeling items. We use handmade (hard) sugar paste flowers and handmade *wafer paper flowers. Edible, but NOT recommended for eating due to the hardness of the sugar (sugar paste) or *the lack of flavor (wafer paper).
We had a fabulous beyond words fantastic honeymoon that we will never forget! During our stay in Antigua we had wonderful snacks that lasted us all week thanks to you. They put the (Honeymoon) basket in our get away car so when we got in we had a wonderful surprise waiting! It was gorgeous and may I add way over done.
When To Order: Plan to find and contact your baker at least 6 months to a year before your wedding date (Hopefully us, : D). We limit the number of our bookings per date; so plan early. Tasting: We schedule and bake especially for each tasting and do not keep any cakes around. We charge $25 for a tasting for two people, with three flavors (alcohol or special purchases will be extra).

I ordered a round, three tier birthday cake with caramel, chocolate, and vanilla layers. Not only was the cake delicious, and beautiful, but Jeanine, and her hubby's customer service was exceptional. We just had the best surprise birthday party for my husband and Jeanine provided the most wonderful cake! She listened and did exactly as I asked and to top it off the cake was delicious! Days later and my husband is still talking about it. Very professional and would recommend to anyone who wants a unique cake that tastes delicious 🙂.

We received the most beautiful cake for my mom’s 70th birthday! Jeanine has SO much attention to detail and asked me questions about specific things I wanted for the cake. There were so many options, and she really helped me decide on what colors, flavors, flowers, etc would work best. I live in another state and I felt completely at ease ordering from her. On the special day, she arrived at the agreed time, set the cake up for us, and told me to let her know if there was anything wrong. Of course there wasn’t!! The cake looked amazing and tasted even better. Everyone kept complimenting it

July 3rd, I had my dream fairytale wedding. I was literally floored when I saw our wedding cake, and it made the biggest statement at our wedding! I’m extremely grateful for all the hard work put into this cake, because it’s not easy pulling off a unique request like this! The cake tasted phenomenal! I highly, highly recommend, and price is very reasonable.

I want to first say that Jeanine is one of the most talented bakers and artists we know. As scientists, my husband and I had minimal time to organize our daughter's birthday party. But when we got around to prepping for a Zootopia themed birthday, we realized that most bakeries and bakers couldn't meet my deadline. Jeanine was gracious enough to accept this short notice order and achieved it perfectly on time. She not only came up with an extremely beautiful Zootopia themed cake (picture attached), but also baked one of the most delicious chocolate cakes we have ever tasted. And she did all this

My wife wanted a champagne cake, and Jeanine made us one soaked with actual champagne. Excellent! The middle layer was chocolate with ganache filling, and it was hands down the best chocolate cake I've ever had. Her prices are reasonable, and her service is top notch. She's even making us a fresh top layer to celebrate our anniversary, free of charge. I can't recommend It Cakes the Cake highly enough.

Jeanine is amazing to work with. From the very start, she worked with me to make sure I had everything that I wanted for my wedding cake. On my wedding day, our beautiful cake was delivered and Jeanine carefully placed flowers around the cake and our cake topper. Our cake looked better than the pictures that I sent her. We ordered a larger cake and expected to have leftovers but that did not happen! Guests raved about the moist texture and some came back for seconds. At the end of the night, we were lucky we saved the top layer of the cake for our one year anniversary or else that would have been

It Takes the Cake was an absolute dream to work with. Jeanine went above and beyond to make sure that our vision came to fruition on our wedding day. Originally, I intended to only have our main cake made here. The process and Jeanine's lovely personality and disposition made us immediately decide to also get our groom's cake made here too. We did not regret our decision. The cakes were gorgeous and knock-your-socks off good. The cake became a buzz at the wedding and our guests were fighting to take the leftovers home. We love this vendor and insist you work with them for your events.
