When you are planning a Session you have two things to do. Find a few days on your calendar that are available. Call me. Seriously. It is that simple. Don't worry about locations, times, clothes. With one small chat, I will find out what your end goal is and along the way I'll design your session for you.
I'm Scottish with a fair amount of Irish thrown in. Which should mean I'm a riot at parties and a recreational alcoholic. Funny maybe but I'm a nondrinker which in Scotland is a borderline criminal offense! Nothing against drinking simply not enough sugar involved. If anyone is buying, grande latte - extra hot, no foam, and 12 of those little bags of raw sugar.

Our studio in downtown Knoxville allows for studio lighting and natural light. I think the key is designing a custom session. We enjoy photographing kids and adults alike. I had the best experience with John this year for my family's holiday pictures! It was our first time using him (he was referred to us from a friend that used him as their wedding photographer) and we will definitely use him again. He was so patient with my young and energetic children but also quick and efficient, which is super important for my husband. He got the photos back to me within 2 hours of actually taking them and they are incredible!

He was direct and had lots of great ideas for professional, business casual and casual looks. He works quickly and is very personable. I have worked with John Black on a variety of photography shoots, both personal and commercial. Working commercial shoots with John was always so fun, exciting, unpredictable, and always fruitful. John can take even the most mundane subject, like textiles and bring out the light and shadows in a shot. What he can do with humans is even more amazing. Our models were always glad we'd booked John and he has an innate skill to make anyone comfortable. We had shoots with men, women, and kids, some were unexperienced and some were professional models, and John could make magic happen with every shot

John Black came to our ranch and photographed our rescue horses after we adopted them. He was wonderful with the horses as well as our children and the photos were really well done. We plan to use him for family photos in the future. He was professional throughout the shoot and even photographed our daughter. The horses responded well to him. He was punctual and we got photos emailed the same day. He’s been an excellent communicator with regard to purchasing and packages. It was a great experience overall. I’d recommend him.
