Great service and selection. Coffee is bottomless when ordered. Incredibly comfortable ambiance experience. Kurt's mustache is 11/10 would rate higher if I could.

Great local deli with a wonderful atmosphere. I go here often and am never disappointed. Great selection of food from sandwiches, soups and even on special occasions pizza. You should definitely check it out.

I love supporting local businesses and was happy to find this place near my new clinical site. I ordered a chicken salad sandwich and a cup of soup. I absolutely CRINGED when I saw the employees using their bare hands to make cold sandwiches. I can only assume they wash their hands between each sandwich, but it still makes me very uncomfortable. They packed everything in a paper bag, which broke on the way to my car and my cup of soup fell onto the ground. I find it odd that they put eggs in the chicken salad as well. I'm sure there are great foods on the menu, but I will sadly not return if the

Maybe stick with sandwiches.... Don't get the chicken soup! It looked and tasted like soup you get out of a can with cubed type chicken. I was hoping for something that would be close to homemade. It seemed the only thing that they made in it were the dumplings. No flavor... very bland. So, it was basically canned chicken soup that was white from the flour of the dumplings. The person who got the sandwich said it was a great sandwich...so if I ever go there again that is what I would get. The people were very friendly so I gave one extra star for that but super disappointed regarding the soup

Whenever I move to a new area or start a new job, one of my first priorities is finding the closest deli. Sure every now and then I need my fix of a cheeseburger or burrito bowl, but you can't beat the vibe of a proper deli. The scent of fresh bread or soup, the gentle humming of the refrigerator unit keeping the salads cool. I'm not an expert, just a guy looking for a good sandwich to grab on my lunch break. And I found a GREAT sandwich today. If you live/work near Brown Deer, this is where you should be getting your takeout from.

I'm coming back in the morning to judge the breakfast

Lovely outdoor seating with loads of nostalgic Brown Deer history and a refreshing atmosphere for those hot summer days. Their daily brew of coffee along with their freshly baked goodies, or deli sandwiches and salads creates the perfect weekend retreat. Highly recommended for anyone seeking friendly conversation, a cozy corner to work, or just some straight-up delicious local food.

Had a tasty lunch for a first-time visit to this quaint, daytime-only coffeehouse, pastry shop and deli. Good mocha lattes. Wonderful Reuben grilled paninis. Sides were ok--The German potato salad wasn't to my liking & the pasta salad had crunchy veggies and perfectly cooked pasta but was rather bland (We added raspberry vinaegrette at home). Took home a quart of yummy cream of broccoli soup. Prices were very reasonable. We will be back to try more on the menu.

The Bienenstich is divine and the customer service was great! I've been searching for bienenstich after tasting this delicious dessert at German fest a couple of years ago. This deli did NOT disappoint!

Where does one begin when you have so many wonderful things to say? If you’re looking for food for groups, this is your place. The owner was very kind in answering my many questions. The sandwiches were fresh, great quality, and delicious. Everything was done ahead of schedule and people complimented the food.
I have thrice personally ordered food from here, and have yet to be disappointed. The sandwiches are just the right amount to fill you up and not make you wish you hadn’t eaten those last 2 bites. The paçzki were wonderful. The pastries were a huge hit with the family. We cannot wait

Wednesday is Sub Day!!! Been wanting to try this for awhile and finally made it in for lunch. I ordered the roast beef sub with everything on it(cheese, lettuce tomato, salami, mayo, and dressing)
That fresh roll is really what makes the sub! Fantastic sandwich.
I also got a side of broccoli and bacon salad(I get it at most deli places, its kind of a standard recipe) I noticed KS's broccoli salad had huge hunks of crispy bacon vs the soggy bacon bits you tend to find in salads. I feel like my pics speak for themselves.

What a cute place!! I went in there after a post on Milwaukee Foodie and I wasn't disappointed. We picked up several things (photos included) and went home to try them. Everything was amazing. Being from Germany myself it's very hard to find Bienenstich. Kurt's is amazing! It's not too sweet and the filling is custard based. The almond horns were amazing! They have just the right amount of almonds and chocolate. The store also has an eating area inside and out. The atmosphere was very welcoming and Kurt himself greeted us at the door. The prices are very reasonable and honestly, he could absolutely

Not a bad local place, my girlfriend and I stopped in to grab lunch to go to try them out. I believe that we both got a super sandwich, I got a chicken noodle soup and she got a pasta salad. The size of the sandwich was really disappointing based on it being almost 10 bucks and the soup was just decent, the same went for the pasta salad. The staff was really friendly, but otherwise I'd say you can get a better bang for your buck at most other sandwich places.

First time here and it was really good, just as other Yelpers have posted. My wife had the Turkey sub on a freshly bakes wheat sub roll, she was pretty quiet while eating lunch.
I had the reuben with mayo, mustard, onions and a slice of provolone on marbled rye bread. The bread was super soft and with a nice mellow taste, some say this type of bread can be sour, but it was perfect. There was an alrigh amount of corned beef, however I could have used more of the additional ingredients. The sauerkraut was good but I could have used more, as well as mustard.
Our visit was pleasant except

Good cookies. Good bread. Good service. They offer a sweet little deli menu and lots of sides. The prices were reasonable and I thought the food was better than the place across the street which is much better known. I can't believe that, despite being a Village resident for over 20 years, it took me so long to stop in, but I'm glad I did. Located in what was once the village version of a downtown in Brown Deer, now I know why they're beloved by the community. I'll be adding this to my regular lunch spots.

This is one of those long time bookmarks that I finally got over to because a hot pastrami sandwich was on my brain. The place is kind of cool because it's a little old school but not too old school because it's got the old school deli as you walk in and a neat/clean dining room next to it. The dining room has wood paneling walls of color with booths and tables to accommodate any size group.

I meet the stache wax maker, hair care for the hard core mustache person at the register who makes stache wax and sells it at the cash register, he's worth the trip alone just to meet.

Pick a side

I used to patronize Schulz's a few times a week back when I had a real job. I've never stepped foot in Larry's across the street, even with the tempting smells of the outdoor grill in the summer. Kurt Schulz offers some of the best sandwiches and sides I've ever feasted on along with the most friendly staff so there was never reason to wander. Their sandwiches (with a pickle) are loaded and come in at under ten bucks with your choice of side and drink. The deli display features a plethora of options and you can add on bags of chips and other baked goods.
