Services
We are for and about the students. Our dancers are provided with many performance opportunities in which they are the focus. With our high-quality dance education program, students can pursue a professional career in dance at BYB. However, we recognize that not all students are dancing with a professional career in mind.
Bluegrass Youth Ballet creates and upholds rules and policies with the primary objective for students to learn in a positive environment. We provide a foundation of high-quality training, innovative performances, and cultural experiences to assist in the learning experience. Our policies for the families help provide a safe and supportive space for students as well.
You will not be able to select a class when Registering, it simply gets you into our system so we can review student's information and determine if they will need an evaluation (ages 8 and up) and assist enrollment for your first time. Be sure to create your Parent Portal so you can enroll in the future and manage your account.
This 45-minute class meets once a week and captures the joy of dancing in the students. Using playful, creative stories and themes we begin basic ballet technique, conditioning and strengthening exercises, and free form and structured group movement activities. Ballet vocabulary and class etiquette are introduced in preparation for pre-ballet.
Our program's placements are determined by technique, physical development, current age development, and experience with our curriculum. While age is a consideration for placement, our highly experienced and quality educated faculty place students where they will be most successful in dance with physical, emotional, and social health at highest priority.

Bluegrass Youth Ballet is one of the best things that has ever happened to our family. They are unparalleled in their dance skills, teaching skills, professionalism and commitment to their students. We found them during Arts Week 11 years ago and have been there ever since. You will find no better dance school anywhere.

BYB has been a second home to me for as long as I have danced there. The teachers have such amazing attitudes and terrific teaching meathods. BYB is very inclusive and makes dancing very fun! Their positive reinforcement policy is always carried through. BYB is one big happy family and a good environment to learn in. The productions are very creative and well done. The teachers gradually ease you into advanced steps through safe processes so that you are strong. BYB definitely deserves 5 stars for its amazing heart.

My daughter has studied ballet here since its inception. We came to Bluegrass Youth Ballet because we were following its founder, Adalhi Aranda Corn, who is a gifted, kind and charismatic instructor. This school is special because they give real performance opportunities to the kids, not in a competition or recital setting but in the context of full-length ballets, performed at the Opera House or Singletary Center for the Arts.
