This was great! We had a window on the back of the room that was facing the woods behind us, the room was well kept up and quiet. There were also fireworks across the street that we could go outside and sit in the bench to watch.

Best place to stay in mackinaw city. Great value and even greater owners. This place is not part of the hotel monopoly (one person owens 30 out of the 40 places to stay). They care about you and your stay. Coming to Mackinaw city stay at the Rainbow Motel. The best place to stay is at the end of the Rainbow.

Tiny rooms but super well kept and wonderful staff. Plus rates are very good. Love the Scooby-Doo mystery machine parked out front. It is in walking distance of all the shops. We love this place!

Stayed here for my 2nd trip to mackinaw and I loved my time here. I decided to stay due to the good reviews, price, proximity to downtown and them having a pool. I spent a lot of time at the pool and in the hot tub; both were great. This is a small, family run motel. Staff is very friendly and they have 2 of the cutest little pups in the office. Rooms were clean, beds were comfortable and included a microwave & mini-fridge. Lots of beautiful flowers & cute little gnome collection. Would definitely stay there again.

Excellent! The owners care about this place and their guests, not just their profit. We got 2 rooms for 4 days and 3 nights in mid August of 2021. Here's what we have to say:
Customer Service - Owners were very accommodating, and patient with all our questions.
Location - walking distance to the ferry docks, Starbucks, shopping, and dining. All within a 10-15 minute stroll.
Cleanliness - Immaculate. Has well-maintained grounds and building. They sanitize the room with UV lights aside from their regular cleaning!
Parking - ample space for parking and you are assigned your own slot.

The Rainbow Motel deserves a plaque with 5 huge stars. The staff, and especially owners go out of their way to make sure your enjoying all mackinaw has to offer. during check-in, Laura made sure we knew… everything. it wasn't a speal that was rehearsed. this was a genuine questionnaire because she wanted us to have the best time. by the time we finished check in, we knew of all the best eateries in town, we knew about events happening in the city, which fudge shop she and her husband enjoyed the most, and her favorite ferry service for heading to the island. this place is manicured to a

Excellent. We would highly recommend this place. We visit the Mackinaw area regularly and our top choice for lodging would always be Rainbow Motel. The owners are wonderful and the landscaping is awesome. A great place. The indoor pool is well kept and fairly warm. Our family will continue to make the Rainbow our first choice for area lodging. When talking with others around town about lodging options, we heard some complaints about the other "larger" facilities on the main strip. I have not heard any complaints about Rainbow Motel.

50s- 60s style one floor hotel with parking at your door. This is not a resort with fancy bling and extras, but if you need a comfortable bed in a clean room, this is the place!

For the age of the building it was very well maintained. ( I do lots of renovations and look for that kind of thing)

Staff was genuinely nice and accommodating. Room was adequate sized and VERY clean.

With almost all the other hotels in the area having bad reviews, pictures of stained bedding, bugs and worn down facilities, save yourself time and some money ( room was $99 per night) and just book your stay here!

Nice little hotel. Clean and friendly. It's an older hotel - but the place is well maintained. I enjoyed a quiet evening here. Great location (walk to downtown). The owners obviously enjoy taking care of the place - down to the efforts put into the flower beds (nice touch).

I will absolutely be back again!

This is a very nice, traditional, older motel. The rooms are decent sized, immaculately clean, and comfortable. Bed and pillows were also comfortable. Nice, grassy grounds and beautiful gardens. Close to the local shops, attractions, restaurants, and ferry boats. The owners were very friendly and helpful. I was very comfortable and would definitely stay here again!

I was driving back from the UP and trying to find somewhere to stop for the night before heading back to Detroit and this was exactly what I was looking for! The staff was super friendly and able to accommodate me getting in so late. The room was tiny and dated but still had a bed, bathroom with a shower, mini fridge, and tv! Cheap & clean - perfect for stopping and sleeping while on the road!

Thank you Yelp community. Saw they had5 stars. Was at Petoskey State Park. Didn't even read reviews beyond " little piece of paradise", called and am paying about 80+ for their budget Roo, which is small, but the whole place is charming and I'm writing this from a gazebo drinking a beer from Petoskey that I bought at seemingly the only convenience store in town.

Great place for toddlers & preschoolers. We like the option of being able to lay them down, turn on the baby monitor and sit outside relaxing. Something you cant do in a regular hotel.
Also the kids enjoy the pool, the put put green, playing in the gazebo and all the statues (deer, swans and all sorts of garden gnomes & frogs)
The whole place is very dated but in a cutesy grandmas house kind of way. The bathrooms are super old but very clean.
The only complaint I have is the bed. Super lumpy and old mattress. We were quite uncomfortable. Also the fitted sheet on the bed kept popping

I was looking for a hotel in Mackinac City, and literally scoured every site and hotel in the area online. After a thorough search, I decided to book here. Talk about an excellent decision!

The prices here are awesome, and way cheaper then the rest. For a Thursday and Friday night, it only cost us $58 a night after tax. You can book the rooms online through their website or over the phone. You will need to leave a credit card number, but when you go to check in, you can pay cash like we did.

I had a few questions, so I booked over the phone. The gal who helped me was super nice, and let me
