I began my career in esthetics with a desire to light candles, play soft music, and rub people's faces. After several years of doing that I discovered I had another talent - ripping out unwanted body hair! Not too many people can say they seek a career in things such as Brazilian waxing but perhaps it is because of that fact, that I love it.
At Molly's Wax Shop we focus on the body. Our specialty is the fine art of the Brazilian wax using only the hard waxing technique, along with various versions from the basic bikini to the full on dare-to be-bare and anything in between - your comfort level, your choice. We also offer leg and underarm waxes, as well as several body/bikini waxing packages.
Caution: Before waxing, any oral or topical antibioticsmust be discontinued fortwo weeksprior to any waxing treatment. No waxing anywhere for those on Accutane - you must discontinue its use for one year prior to a waxing treatment. These medications compromise the integrity of the skin making it much more sensitive and will pull, rip, or burn the skinif used in conjunction with waxing.
Molly's Wax Shop is situated between the historic districts of Oakwood and Mordecai in the booming Person St. business District. Coming from Peace St. (headed downtown just after crossing Blount St.) turn left at the famous and delicious Krispy Kreme, and we are in a little group of shops just past The Station Bar and Draperies by Townes.

Ladies why are you going anywhere else???? Molly is THE BEST at what she does. Her facility is clean, she is delightful, professional and gentle. I’ve been to three other “franchises” in the area that don’t even compare!!!! You get what you pay for. Molly’s services are sooooo worth it.

Molly was very professional and clean. She was able to get me in same day. She heard my concerns about having thin brows and fixed them to look full. I made another appointment for more services. I cannot stop looking at my brows in the mirror because they are so beautiful.

Just had my first wax here after going to the same person for 2 years and then moving away from that city. After a couple bad experiences with 2 different places locally a friend told me about Molly's! I had Arianna and she was amazing and made me feel very comfortable on top of giving a GREAT wax. I will definitely go back, highly recommend.

I have nothing but great things to say about molly and her shop! I've been wanting to get a Brazilian wax for years but the fear of the pain and shyness from being a plus size woman kept me from getting one. I finally decided to give Molly a try. I emailed her beforehand to ask about plus size women getting waxed and she was so professional and reassuring via email, that I knew she was the right person for my first time. The day of I was so incredibly nervous and almost cancelled ! I'm so glad I didn't. Molly did an AMAZING job of making me feel comfortable not only with the process

I started coming to Molly's Wax Shop a month ago, and I can already tell this will be my go-to place! The vibe is sweet, smoothing, and beautifying! That is the vibe I get not only from the decor, but also Molly's personality. She really tries to make you feel comfortable, and walk out wanting to come back the next week. The experience I had today really lived up to my expectations! My wax was with Molly (after I booked online without specifying anyone), who I found to be kind, professional, and engaging. It really felt like I was hanging out with a friend during my brazilian wax.
Molly did an excellent job of putting me at ease and managing my pain expectations, having me inhale and exhale during the more painful portions. I'd never experienced the hard wax she uses

Arianna and Molly are both incredible brow specialists and I refuse to go anywhere else in the Triangle. They both have slightly different waxing preferences but I've never been disappointed with either of them.
Parking is tight in the plaza so do not arrive too early. There are only 2 spots available so try and get there about 3-5 minutes prior to your appointment. Appointments can easily be made online but finding any availability has been tough these days because they are so busy. Once you're in, make your next appointment before leaving.

Molly's Wax Shop was absolutely amazing! I used Molly after I had an horrible experience at the European Wax Center on Falls. Luckily I checked Molly's and she had an opening. What are the odds? I booked right away. I later found out that she had a cancellation.
When I arrived I was a little out of my head because I thought I would be later, Molly was absolutely amazing. She essentially calmed me down. Which was awesome. The wax shop is very inviting and quaint, I didn't feel like I was in chain establishment in a sense it felt like home. She was very nice.

I've been going to Molly's Wax Shop since I first moved to the Triangle, about 5 years ago now. I love her new location and the fact that with a second esthetician, she's now even easier to get in to see. Appointments can easily be made online, and her website has tons of useful info about the various services. I also find that her pricing is reasonable for comparative quality services.

First, the shop is VERY cute and so inviting and second, it's very reassuring that the shop ONLY provides waxing services. Molly was wonderful! She was friendly, easy to chat with, informative and QUICK! I will have to say, she made it as painless as it could be when you are ripping hair out of your body, haha. I will definitely be back and will recommend her to everyone.

I had been getting waxing done at another popular "spa" in the area and their services have continuously declined during my last 4-5 treatments. CARLY is an absolute goddess. Hands down, this is worth every single penny. I have struggled for years and year to find a waxer that didn't remove most of my super sensitive skin along with my hair. I am dedicated to having regular Brazilians (long story why, but it's not because my boyfriend gives a damn, it's a personal need) and it's always just been a nightmare experience.
