It's not unusual for families to be unsure of the process and fearful of the outcome. Ford Family Law is here to help. We're a compassionate but results-focused group of attorneys. We listen, then devise an appropriate strategy that enables our clients to find the most efficient path forward. We've dedicated our careers to helping families minimize stress and get on with their lives.

Services
We have litigated all types of family law disputes, including complex business valuation and property division, child custody, spousal support, paternity, and international move-aways. We take a thoughtful, cost-conscious, and strategic approach to litigation.

We thoroughly evaluate the merits of every new family law matter and provide you with a candid assessment - of the issues, the possible outcomes, the timelines, and the costs (financial, familial, emotional). We discuss your goals, your constraints, and what "success" looks like to you. Then, we partner with you to develop a strategy designed to get you there as efficiently and cost-effectively as possible.
Often both parties wish to avoid litigation, but they need the guidance of an experienced attorney who will act as a "neutral" professional to assist them with reaching solutions that are acceptable to both of them. Parties may not be forced into mediation - both parties must agree to this as an alternative to litigation.
The lawyers at Ford Family Law, A.P.C. regularly consult on pre-nuptials agreements and with parties who are engaged in voluntary mediation. Please contact us for more information. We have litigated all types of family law disputes, including complex business valuation and property division, child custody, spousal support, paternity, and international move-aways.
A Judgment for Marital Dissolution is the legal termination of a marriage and as a result, the termination of certain rights and responsibilities. One leading example of a lost right is the right to maintain a spouse on one's health insurance. Once divorced, an employed spouse can no longer legally maintain his or her former spouse on an employer-sponsored insurance plan.
A paternity action is required to legally recognize parental rights of unmarried persons, to establish enforceable custody and visitation schedules, and to ensure that a child receives financial support from both parents. Without a Judgment of Paternity or a Declaration of Paternity, a person may permanently lose any legal standing as a child's parent and/or a child may go without support.

Re Yishai Boyarin, family practice attorney.
Some background is useful in understanding my endorsement. Yishai Boyarin was my attorney in a very unusual family law case where I sought parental rights for young children not mine, nor had I adopted--but had welcomed into my home and nurtured them. They saw me as their "daddy".
The mother moved away, and threatened to not let me see them--at which point neighbors-friends encouraged me to pursue what seemed like a wild/fruitless pursuit of vague (at best) parental legal rights.
Yishai changed all that with his skillful handling of the

FFL was a beacon for me during the most unbelievably stressful time of my life. When my husband of 25 years abandoned me without notice, I was stunned and did not know where to turn. I experienced thorough guidance, exceptional expertise, and genuine care during the process to reach a fair settlement. Every member of their team contributed to the outcome. I remain forever grateful for the way in which they handled my case and me. Look no further for complete and compassionate representation for your family legal matters.

I had the misfortune of having to go through a contentious divorce. After failed attempts at mediation and hashing it out between us, I was referred to Yishai Boyarin. Having a contentious divorce with children involved was brutal to say the least. During divorce everyone has an opinion of what they believe is "just" and possible in the legal realm. Many people and some lawyers are happy to sow discord in the name of "winning" and are equally ready to see a divorce become a bloodbath. Not Yishai. Yishai was a rock--warm, practical, and very understanding of the fears and anxieties

I had a very difficult and painful divorce. They hung in there and did everything right. I recommend them.
