Services
How are naturopathic doctors different from MDs? Like medical doctors, naturopathic doctors are trained extensively in clinical sciences and diagnostics. The primary difference is that naturopathy focuses on the whole person, and seeks to identify and treat the underlying imbalances, rather than addressing health issues or symptoms in isolation.
Chronic digestive symptoms, such as abdominal cramps, constipation, diarrhea, or constipation may indicate you have irritable bowel syndrome. IBS affects women primarily, and isn't a distinct disease; rather, it's a condition that may be successfully managed with dietary and lifestyle interventions.
Menopause is the time in a woman's life when her period ceases. It's fraught with hormonal changes that can result in enormous changes in your body. Dr. Maura Scanlan, a naturopath practicing in Issaquah, Washington, offers natural treatments to make this transition as smooth and symptom-free as possible.
Naturopathic medicine recognizes that the human body has an innate self-healing ability. Dr. Maura Scanlan practices naturopathic medicine at A Path to Natural Health in Issaquah, Washington. She teaches her patients to use diet, exercise, lifestyle changes, and cutting-edge natural therapies to help their bodies ward off and combat disease.
Naturopathic methods can help your body prepare for pregnancy and help resolve issues with infertility. Dr. Maura Scanlan offers a special four-month program for women ages 20-42 who have been trying for some time to conceive, but without success. This program is also for women who may not yet be actively trying to get pregnant, but would like to become pregnant in the near future.

Maura has been a life changer for me, health-wise, over the last 10 + years. She has helped me eliminate migraines, food sensitivity issues (rashes, digestion issues), ordered tests that identified the beginnings of PCOS and referred me to a specialist for that (so I could get ahead of it), and helps me manage hypothyroidism, UTIs, and various other things that come up. She is knowledgeable, caring, and consistent. I've referred at least 5 people to her and they've all had good results as well.

I came to Dr. Scanlan from a referral because of digestive problems and deciding that I wanted to handle my heathcare in a more holistic way. Dr. Scanlan spent a lot of time with me during the visit and seems very knowledgeable and thorough. We came up with a plan that I’m happy with. I would highly recommend Dr. Scanlan!
