THE KANSAS DIVORCE Does Kansas have jurisdiction? Either party must have been a resident of Kansas for 60 days prior to the filing of the Petition for Divorce. There may be other considerations if you have a spouse with children. The choice of a lawyer is an important decision and should not be based soley on this website.
I was born in San Diego, California while my father was in the navy completing his internship in OBGYN. Upon the divorce of my parents in 1975 I moved to Texas and graduated from St. Johns High School in Houston, Texas in 1977. I then attended Southern Methodist University from 1977-1979. In 1979 I returned to Columbia, Missouri and finished my undergraduate degree in Accounting at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Yes I do. And I absolutely love the process. When I mediate, I already have two people who want to resolve their differences without litigation. That is a wonderful start. If I can get two parties to talk to each other and come up with solutions quickly then I am very excited! I think our role as family law attorney's is to help families.
