Kurt Thomas Gymnastics specializes in training athletes ages 3 through 18 in Frisco, Texas. It is not a franchise, but a privately owned family business with a love for children and the sport of gymnastics. As we enter our 24th year in the Dallas area we hold true to the values, integrity and coaching style that we founded our gym on - fun, positive training with an attention to detail.
Instructors are selected on the basis of their personality and their ability and desire to work with children in a positive way. Each instructor is trained through the program, USA Gymnastics and also has passed a thorough background check and is SafeSport Certified. Our instructors are knowledgeable, friendly, kind, love children and love the sport of gymnastics!

Services
We continue to carry on the Legacy of 3-Time World Champion and 2-Time Olympian, Kurt Thomas. His passion for coaching and the love of the sport is carried on in every aspect of the business! 17 video cameras in the gym catching all of the action and monitoring every coach and athlete during workouts.
Level 1 - Beginner level gymnastics. This level provides basics on the 4 Olympic events ( Vault, Bars, Beam and Floor ) with focus on fitness, flexibility and strength. Level 2 - Intermediate level gymnastics. Still focusing on the vault, bars, beam and floor this level provides new challenges on each apparatus and development.
Beginner Tumbling - Level 1 - Learn the basics of tumbling - up to backwalkovers and back handsprings! 55 minutes focused on strength, power and technique. Intermediate/Advanced Tumbling - Level 2 and 3 - 55 minutes focused on strength, power, technique and developing higher level tumbling skills including front tumbling and twisting!
The team program at Kurt Thomas Gymnastics is divided into three sections, Developmental, Compulsory and Optional. The Developmental team program consists of Thomas Shots, Tiny Shots and Hot Shots. Thomas Shots and Tiny shots are a level 2/3 team program that is a feeder into our Hot Shots. Our Hot Shots group is a level 3 feeder program into our USAG Competition team.

My daughter has attended this facility since the age of 2. Attending Kurt Thomas gymnastics has boosted her self confidence, gained discipline and she’s made so many good friends in this sport. She absolutely loves her coach Mary. The coaches and staff are absolutely the best to the athletes. I wouldn’t want her to train anywhere else.

We have been at Kurt Thomas for over three years now. I have two girls on team (the youngest started in rec classes) and the skills they are learning far exceed just gymnastics. The gymnastics coaching is top notch, focusing on form and attention to detail and not just being able to “throw a skill,” but additionally these girls have mentors in their coaches and learn how to be on a team and a good teammate.
The gym is incredibly family friendly and oriented and after having been to other gyms we are proud to call this our gym home.

Fantastic Gym!!! We have been at Kurt Thomas Gymnastics for almost 5 years now. Our daughter started in the Rec program and then transitioned to the competitive USAG program. I really can’t say enough good things about this gym!
The front desk team is amazing! They are always available to help regardless of what I need! The coaches are hands down the best! I am truly thankful that they encourage and lift up our gymnast and her teammates through great coaching. They are tough, but still sweet. It keeps the sport fun and our girl motivated to do her best and keep growing as a gymnast! My daughter

This gym is VERY beautiful and fluttery on the outside, but as a former gymnast I wish I had left sooner. The emotional abuse in this gym is astronomical. Coaches are rude. They yell at you expecting perfection. When you ask about corrections you are sat out by coaches. There is blatant favoritism in teams which causes tensions and rude remarks not addressed by coaches. Some rude remarks made by certain coaches are very detrimental to a gymnasts self esteem. Skills are taught late in the season which makes it hard for gymnasts to work and perfect the skill before competition. Routine clinics are

My daughters have been at this gym for almost three years, and they absolutely love it!! The coaches are phenomenal. They focus on details, and they are extremely supportive of each athlete and their individual path. Whenever my husband or I drop the girls off for practice, we are confident that our girls are training in the safest environment impossible. What a relief! We love Kurt Thomas Gymnastics, and we’d give them 6 stars if we could!

I absolutely love Kurt Thomas Gymnastics (especially the Thomas family) for how they welcomed my daughter and rebuilt her confidence when she joined the gym a year and a half ago. They communicate regularly with the parents, respond promptly to questions and concerns, and are very professional. They’ve handled COVID with thoughtful action plans and clear communication, demonstrating their commitment to a safe return. It’s abundantly clear how much they love their gymnasts!

Our daughter has been coached at Kurt Thomas gymnastics for the past 4 years and is now a level 9 gymnast. Every detail regarding her safety, the coaching she receives, the equipment she uses and the communication with us as her parents is completed with excellence. I have kept my girl at KT because of the staffs steadfast commitment to her growth as a gymnast and as a maturing young lady! This is by far the BEST gym for my daughter!! They are extremely protective of the safety of my child! They are the very first gym to sanitize with a professional company that specializes in Covid and other nasty germs! My daughter has thrived in their family oriented setting! They care so much for my daughter and they are so professional with me and my husband! The amount of communication is absolutely stellar! We don’t miss any communication! My daughter and I have had an awesome experience from the beginning . There has been great communication via email on a regular basis. My daughter was on team , we were initially looking at the USAG program and we made the decision to enroll into the TAAF program due to scheduling. They were very informative in helping us get settled into the gym as well understanding the difference in each team program and what to expect. The Coaches ( Princetta, Katie, Mary and Stephanie ) are amazing , no yelling , always being positive and encouraging to help build confidence in the gymnasts. It says a lot

Watch out. This gym looks great on the outside, and maybe it has improved, but in the past 90% of the staff has been highly abusive. Gymnasts are forced to ignore doctor's orders and train on broken bones in order to compete. Punishment is severe and unyielding. Favoritism is rampant here and if your child is not a favorite, they will be punished for every imagined wrongdoing.
Girls are publicly humiliated in front of their peers and punished for going to their parents if they're having a problem. Coaches sometimes comment on weight and are highly critical. Behind all the money, "

The program here is excellent! The coaches are involved and invested in student progress and enjoyment. My daughter is 4 years old and attends 3x per week. The pricing is extremely reasonable and the staff is very accommodating. Kurt Thomas Gymnastics takes and interest in students love and enjoyment in learning the sport and developing proper skills and techniques to compete. I am very impressed with everyone at the facility. From the reception to the training everyone is welcoming and customer service is outstanding! This program exudes excellence! This place is just amazing. I had one of my daughters join here since she was 3, and as soon as my other one was able to join, I automatically knew this would be great for her too. Both have very different personalities but they love this place. All of the coaches they've had are very detailed and professional. I love that they teach and correct them when they do something wrong, without taking the "fun" away. They always use have different activities and are taught all around the gym areas. I highly recommend Kurt Thomas Gymnastics. They're great.

My daughter started here a few months ago after I found a deal on Groupon. She had been doing gymnastics for a while and we were wanting to switch gyms because we didn't feel like she was learning anything at her other gym. Right away, we noticed that they were taking time to teach her the proper way to do everything and I could tell that the coaches there truly care. It's a small facility and there isn't much viewing area but everyone is so friendly and she is progressing faster here than she did anywhere else.
