Afsoun joined our team after graduation from Howard University as a Registered Dental Hygienist (R.D.H) in 2006. One of her favorite quotes is from Maya Angelou, "If you find it in your heart to care for somebody else, you will have succeeded." Wendy is a Maryland native. She graduated from Woodward High School and continued her education at the University of Maryland where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene.

Dr. Matthew Moy earned his B.S. degree at the University of Maryland at College Park, graduating magna cum laude in 1999. He then completed his D.D.S. degree in 2003 at the University of Maryland Dental School. Shortly after, Dr. Moy joined Dr. Dechter's practice as a partner. He is a very conscientious and devoted person, and we have received numerous compliments from patients on his gentle and caring approach.
At Dechter & Moy Dentistry in Silver Spring MD, we are committed to providing our patients with the highest level of care. Dr. Dechter and Dr. Moy are amazing dentists! I've been a patient for years and the whole staff is incredible and very welcoming. I've had damage to my front tooth and both Dr. Moy and Dr. Dechter have done work on it. Today I received my permanent tooth and I couldn't be happier! The color is perfect and feels and looks amazing. After having multiple procedures to replace the tooth I lost, all the staff has been incredibly helpful to explain what needs to be done/why it needs to be done. I couldn't recommend them enough and i'm absolutely thrilled with my teeth!

I've never written a review in my life, but this was the best dental experience I've ever had. The staff at Dechter & Moy is warm and friendly. The office is homey and inviting. Florence, the hygienist, is kind, gentle, and thorough. Dr Dechter was also very nice and gave reasonable advice on what would be needed without making you feel pressured. They even gave me a goody bag to go home with :) I recommend 100%!

This was the first time a dentist volunteered to give me an estimate of how much the procedure would be before going forward.
And he was accurate within a couple hundred dollars for a new crown on the tooth next to my molar. They were able to 3-D print or 3-D chisel from a block of enamel.
I haven't been to this dentist in a while because I preferred my dental hygienist.
Who is the dominatrix of plaque.
But she was too busy with people in real pain to see me on short notice.
Dr. Moy Had the new crown ready in about an hour after preparing me,
And We all lived happily ever after.

Always the best care at Dr. D and Dr. M's office! Our entire family has been going here for many years. We highly recommend these dentists. The staff is always helpful with scheduling and the hygienists are kind and very skilled. They have been doing a great job during the pandemic. I feel safe getting my teeth cleaned here. They are more than compliant Covid pandemic wise and as a patient felt quite safe. This practice diagnoses what the patient's issues are and explains everything in easy to understand layman's terms. I personally am pleased with their ability and would strongly recommend them.
Also, ask about the in-house dental plan they offer and see how easily you can save hundreds per year.

Dr. Moy was fantastic. I had some serious work to be done (from an accident) and he was upfront and helped talk me through the entire process. He was thorough in his explanations of what was wrong and what needed to be done. Every step of the way he explained what he was doing. He made me feel comfortable the entire time and asked how I was throughout the procedure. I felt I could trust him completely. He had the latest technology that made things a lot quicker and painless. The end result was fabulous teeth and I am 100% satisfied. I would suggest that everyone see Dr. Moy.

Dr. Dechter is very professional. He explains everything well, and does not promote over treatment. He is professional and not money hungry as my previous dentist. This place is cleaner than I expected. They are very careful with COVID-19. Also all the tools here are disposable or sanitized well with plastic bag covered before usage.
And the lady in the front desk is very helpful. I have two dental insurances, with one of them I don't even remember I have. She is very professional and responsible. She successfully applied both insurances. I finally paid $0 for my infected wisdom teeth exam

This place was great! They were good at communicating before the appointment so I could get all my paperwork in beforehand. Because of COVID asked the questions needed and took my temp before going in, professional the whole way.
The cleaning was totally painless, which is surprising given it had been a while and there was a bit to get to. Some additional work is needed, which was clearly outlined in procedure and cost.
I had Dr Moy and he was professional and courteous the whole way.
Can't say enough good things. Highly recommend.

I was really concerned about going to the dentist amidst a pandemic but Decater &Moy made me feel safe and at ease. I came in because my previous dentist had left a temp filling in my root canal when everything shut down in March. The receptionist took my temperature and paperwork in the parking lot and I was only let in when they were ready for me. All staff had PPE and kept their distance when possible. Dr. Moy got me in and out quickly, efficiently and professionally. I am due for my routine follow up and I would definitely feel safe going back to them.

I finally got the courage to go to a dentist after 15 years. I am so happy with my choice of Dechter and Moy. For a crown Dr. Dechter immediately put me at ease with his caring and considerate manner and his professionalism. For gum cleaning I had Florence Chery, their Dental Hygienist, who was very skilled, focused, yet congenial. She made sure I was comfortable at every stage and did a very careful and meticulous job. Dr. Moy was thorough, gentle and personable. Great combination for a dentist. Had to have a tooth removed that was the result of a failed root canal and was referred to an oral surgeon. There weren't openings for like 2 weeks for an oral surgeon and Dr. Moy was available the next day. He was successful in removing the tooth and was constantly checking to see if I was okay. Recommend him. I know I'm gonna be sore for a bit but it's not bad so far. Thank you Dr. Moy and I look fwd to my implant

I have been going here for years and don't plan to switch anytime soon! I always see Dr. Moy and he is very friendly and you can tell he cares about his patients. I never have to wait long for an appointment and they have great office hours. I have had Florence as my dental hygienist the past few times I have went and she is the best! She definitely makes you feel comfortable and is very friendly. The office has done a great job making accommodations during COVID-19. I felt very safe and the staff is working hard to make sure there is extremely limited contact between people.

I have been seeing Dr. Moy as my dentist for several years. The entire dental practice is very professional and appointments are always on time. I have had regular dental checkups as well as some more major work done (fillings and a crown) and they are always on the ball. The hygienist is also very accommodating for dealing with my sensitive gag reflex. I will continue to go to them for all my dental needs for the foreseeable future!

I've been to many dentists in the DC Metro Area and Drs. Dechter and Moy are by far the best. Their staff is extremely professional, I'm always seen on time, the dental hygienists are always friendly and gentle, and the doctors are very knowledgeable and listen to any concerns. Great dentist. Dr Moy is very understanding and listens to all your concern. I've had bad experiences with Dentist before and was in pain. Dr. Moy and his staff made feel at ease and explained the root canal was needed. The root canal was completed in one day. I was very happy. I have another issue with the area and Dr Moy had no problem with sending me to a specialist. He also sent my x-rays to them. I would highly recommend him to my friends and others.

Not in big, showy ways-but in kind, thoughtful, unassuming ways.
The front desk staff comes around from the desk to help with the front door if it’s needed. Every person in the office speaks to us when we encounter them. The support staff and Dr. Dechter seem to go out of their way to help us.....and then I note that this is how they treat every patient.
Bringing my mom and my (late) brother here over the last few weeks has been such a pleasure! A relief to know such wonderful patient care exists

Dr. Moy did my root canal. Amazing experience. He answered all my questions, he did an excellent job without any pain and everyone was extremely professional. I am so glad I found them through yelp. Love the staff here. Florence is a wonderful dental hygienist, her (chair?) bedside manner makes me feel at ease and comfortable. She is not too rough. I know I am in good hands. Dr. Moy is talented at what he does and informative as he patiently answers all of my questions. We discussed a plan and options for me that was manageable affordable in order of priority. Since I am self-employed their In-House Dental Plan works for my budget! So glad I found them here on yelp. They are right up the street from my house.

I came into their office with yet another emergency dental issue and true to form they not only fit me in immediately they went above and way beyond the call of duty, and got me fixed up and put me on a good dental path for the future!!! It had been 20 years since my last visit to a dentist chair before becoming a new patient of Dr. Dechter recently. Having visited the office for several visits and needs of varying complexity I am writing a quick review to share my pleasant experiences.
The office is conveniently located in a suburb area within reasonable travel by car or metro (Glenmont metro is about a half mile away). First appointment since retiring from the U.S. Army ... and was a remarkable experience! From Ms. Vicky coming in at the door to Ms. Jen doing my xrays, exam and cleaning :-) ... then to Dr. Dechter and the lovely Ms. Dawn doing my dental care ... finally with Ms. Lilly with scheduling my next appointment and making sure everything was well taken care of. People - go here for your dental needs. After getting a root canal from a specialist, I needed a crown. My regular dentist told me that it would take three visits to do it, and she didn't have another appointment for a month. After I saw all these great Yelp reviews, I decided to come here to get the crown. Thank. Goodness.
