Established in 1986, Cholita's is a full service, family owned and operated restaurant. We take great pride in preparing the food fresh daily. We want it to be to your satisfaction. We realize all tastes are not the same, therefore, if we ever serve any food that is not to your satisfaction, please let us know and we will prepare it to your liking or change if for something else.
We are located at the corner of Central and Tyler in the Westlink Shopping Center. Cholita's also offers catering services for the entire metro area. In Wichita there are many Mexican Restaurants to choose from. But, for real Mexican Food at family prices, there is but one choice and that's CHOLITA'S!

Uhhh...not very good Mexican food. Felipes or Mexico Viejo are much better choices in this area. Guacamole was already turning brown when it was brought to the table. The tortilla used for my chicken "sancho" was not fresh and it was flaky thin and chicken was tasteless. I said No Beans....it was full of beans. The Chile Relleno was not tender. Save your money it was not worth the price.

I've read all the reviews here and service seems to be a common complaint.
Last night my wife and I waited 1:45 minutes in the restaurant for tacos that were NEVER made, The 2 waitresses were all but worthless and the manager couldn't be troubled. We've eaten here since they opened back in the 90's, won't enter this place again. If you want to eat good Mexican food and get descent service go anywhere else.

The burrito was smothered with American cheese. The quesadilla was American cheese. Sorry that’s not a quesadilla. The fajita beef was provided as slab/sheets of meat. Not cut or shredded. Beef is poorly seasoned. Or not seasoned at all. Salsa taste like watery tomato soup. We had a gift card but won’t be returning.

Owned and operated by one of the best families you'll ever meet! Also, doesn't hurt to be a Chiefs fan or a soccer fan! Great food done well and quickly! Also, you'll probably want some salsa to take home with you! Meat and potato enchiladas and Monterrey are my favorites. So very affordable its shocking! Bring the whole family if you're worried about being able to eat out on a budget, you'll be just fine here! And the portions are very generous.

Great, traditional Mexican fare. Made fresh. Friendly staff. The salsa is very good, but the hot is Very hot... at least to us.
Love the Monterrey, but it is more than it originally looks... it's huge!
Haven't had a bad meal here yet. I got started coming here in the mid 80s. The food has been consistently wonderful!

Terrible beyond belief, are you kidding? The only good thing was the chips were really solid and could have stood up to salsa but:
* the salsa was nothing but pureed tomato, no seasoning, no effort at seasoning, Mexican Oregon, nothing
* the cheese was shredded american cheese, like on cheap hamburgers
* the beef had no seasoning nor marinating, but was at least cooked
* the chorizo was over seasoned, but, at least it was seasoned, so dry I choked on it, had ration my diet coke, "Hope" the waitress never offered a refill it. I asked for Hope to bring me some more pureed tomato as I

OK, wanted to use a coupon and have an inexpensive dinner out with my husband. The waitresses are very sweet, and welcoming. The food, however is subpar. The mild "salsa" is like someone poured jarred spaghetti sauce into a dish. It certainly didn't taste Mexican by any means. Hubby doesn't like Mexican food, so he ordered the Tbone, medium- we specified "pink in the middle, but not bloody". The steak is cut so thin (to make it meet the stated weight) that it would be impossible to cook it medium or anything other than well done or over done. The side salad was nice

When I went here I ordered one of the combination dinners (since it was Saturday & they had their special). I REALLY enjoyed my flour taco, SOOO good y'all. outside my burrito was this amazing gravy, but inside my burrito looked like a disgusting mess, was mediocre. The beef enchilada was just beef rolled up in a grilled tortilla covered with melted fake cheddar cheese. Rice was bland but I haven't been to a mexican joint that seasoned that rice so I guess that's normal. A little overpriced for some of those food items but amazing customer service, very nice & helpful. I

Great friendly family owned business! Always a joy to visit. Wait staff have always been more than pleasant with us. If there is ever a hiccup they are quick to fix! I recommend their carnita dinner, just amazing. Plus, all you can eat chips and salsa paired with our favorite margarita (only $3 might i add) you cannot go wrong here.

My girlfriend and I went in to get a to-go order. We walked in and the server sat us at a table without asking if it was "for here or to-go." They put chips and salsa on the table even though we indicated it was to-go. We thought it was a nice gesture while we looked over the menu, but when the server realized it was To-go she took them back into the kitchen. After looking over the menu we ordered Fish Tacos, Chicken Tacos, Tortas, and Tamales. After waiting about 20 minutes we got a large bag with all the food. They said chips and salsa were in the bag (they weren't). Once we got

I wiil update because of idiots like steve s, no this isnt authentic mexican if you thought going in a strip mall on westside was gonna get you real mexican, your bad, this place is what it is meant to be, if you want buche, barbacoa, nopalitas, tripas etc, theres plenty of places to get that in this town, i can give you a list since thats what i like, but my wife doesnt, you want spicy heat try the kitchen sauce or there are plenty of off menu things made for those of us that like more traditional, walk in one time and order off menu and duh? You get soft palette as you call it, im mexican too

Ordered the vegetable burrito and it literally was only filled with beans (that is, very plain beans as though they were straight from the can). My friend ordered the beef burrito and it was only filled with beef and had melted cheese on the top like it was microwaved on. Neither of us ate more than a few bites. Even the chips were really heavy. I wish I had taken pics of our food, lol!

The service is fantastic. Most things are fresh, you can tell some are not. A mixture. Just gotta find the right thing. The chips are made there and they are delicious. The sauce is cheaply made but somehow compliments the chips. There's a reason this place has been open for around 20 years. whether it's the food or the service, depends on the person. But sometimes great service makes you keep Comin.

This is what I get for moving to Kansas... Ugh.. Disgusting! Let us begin..
The chips - Nasty.. they tasted like taquitos..If i wanted taquitos i wouldve ordered them..
The salsas they put out were ridiculously sub par.. The "mild" one tasted like mexican seasoned tomato sauce and the "hot" one tasted like mexican seasoned louisiana hot sauce..
I ordered the lunch special bc it was the only thing that wasnt over priced.. Gross.. It was maybe 1/4 of a chicken breast (boiled, unseasoned and shredded) , a couple tablespoons of pinto beans (they were actually pretty good

It had been probably 10 years since we've eaten here, but a New Year's resolution to eat someplace "different" and a family outing to go book shopping out west put Cholita's on the menu.
It's a small and comfortable "family" restaurant with many of the same Wichita-local favorites, including Monterreys, flautas, a selection of combo dinners (specially-priced at $7.59 on Saturdays), and a number of al a carte items.
The tortilla chips were crisp and sturdy, all the better to scoop up the salsa, the standard pureed tomato sauce found in most family-owned
