A bunion is an enlarged bone on the side of the big toe. Depending on the severity of the bunion, the big toe may be angled mildly or sharply toward the other toes. Bunions often develop along with other foot problems, especially hammertoes. Causes of bunions include heredity, foot injury, or congenital deformity.
Athlete's foot is a skin infection caused by fungus. A fungal infection may occur on any part of the body; on the foot, it is called athlete's foot, or tinea pedis. Fungus commonly attacks the feet because it thrives in a dark, moist and warm environment, such as a shoe. Fungal infections are more common in warm weather when feet tend to sweat more.
Dr. Somers is awesome! He has treated me for 6 months. When nothing else helped, he operated. He has the best bedside manner. He tells it like it is. He really listens to you and he loves to joke around with you and have fun. He even called me at home a few hours after my surgery to see if I was ok and to make sure I was eating.

Dr Somers was recommended by a friend and I am so glad I listened. My initial appointment at the office was amazing, such a friendly office with a beautiful aquarium. The appointment was right on time and Dr Somers was very pleasant and reassuring. My past experience with a Podetrist was not that great so this was very refreshing. I didn't feel like a number or like I was a interruption of the doctors day. Dr. Somers listened and suggested a solution to my ingrown toenails. Happily I scheduled my appointment and my problem is solved. I would recommend Dr. Somers and his team to all my friends

Before the surgery, I wasn't even able to go half a day with normal routine walking without major pain in both of my feet. Many doctors from Cool Springs questioned my intent for the surgery, insisting it was for cosmetic purposes. No other doctor would do both feet at the same time. Dr. Somers was the only doctor who not only did both of my feet at the same time, he recommended it. His theory was that I might not
