We had SEVERAL questions regarding an easement on a property we were in the process of buying. I feel as though my representation by Stephanie M. was inadequate. During the “zoom” mediation she had little to say, making insufficient impact. Her closing statement was weak, & she used no verbiage that she had used in the consult when agreeing with me. I was very disappointed then. Followed by complete frustration upon receiving a statement for an additional substantial UNEXPECTED amount. I hired John Stocks several months into my divorce after I fired my first attorney. I interviewed many attorneys and did a LOT of research. I picked John because he told me the truth to my face, even if it didn't benefit him (or me). He always told me what the Judges perspective would be based on his extensive experience which helped me see what he needed to do his job. STEER CLEAR!!! Deborah Gordon was more concerned about how long court was going to last, than what was best for ME, her CLIENT. My case was life changing, and throughout my whole mediation with a dead beat, she kept making jokes about asking for later pick up times incase I wanted to get drunk. She is VERY insensitive. I don't think she took me as serious because of how young I am. When I would ask questions, she would also talk to me like if I knew what the hell she was talking about. I DID NOT GO TO LAW SCHOOL, YOU DID!!!! I would go out of my way to do HER job, and in the end child support

When I met Mr. Stocks of Van Siclen Stocks & Firkins in 2017, I knew he was the lawyer I had been looking for, he is professional, knowledgeable, and respectful. I hired this firm for personal injury and to disburse a car accident settlement. They charged thousands then said the only case they could help me with was the disbursement of funds and negotiating settlement with another party and attorney. ... Dexter Callahan was my attorney and was terrible at communicating and customer service. I would highly recommend finding another firm to handle your business

My past experiences with lawyers (divorce, malpractice) have been negative and extremely stressful; I consistently felt talked down to and ignored. I recently met with John and Jeff regarding a difficult personal and employment situation. During the consultation both gentlemen were respectful and very helpful, providing me with options and honest advice. I didn't feel pressured in any direction (to hire/retain or not) and even followed up with an email recapping our meeting. While I hope to resolve my own issue, I would absolutely retain this firm to guide me if needed.

The Attorney wanted me to fight. I am assuming to run up my already painful bill. I wouldn't so I basically was by myself. He was sitting with me but I received very little council. I felt like I was "fed to the wolves."
Totally disappointed in the outcome of my case. I would have been better taking my chances alone. To provide a picture of how bad t took me 5 years to pay myself out of debt. I was making payments on my attorney bill, evidently not fast enough, I was sent to collections.

I'd heard great things about this firm and was even referred by a friend who had worked with them. My experience didn't reflect the great things I heard. Maybe it was the attorney I chose to represent me, which is no fault but my own. My divorce took over 12 months to make it to mediation which should've happened within the first 6 months, at the longest. Plus I was never told what the cause was as to why it took so long. I was referred here by my work CLC program and i have regretted going here ever since. The lawyer i was assigned was extrememly unresponsive to my emails, phone calls, and voicemails. Without notice, my laywer went on vacation without assigning a backup to my case, makng the deadline miss that we had already talked to her about. The office workers are extremely unprofessional, dogs are roaming over the office, and the billing department was completely unorganized.
