Kathmandu Market & Deli is located in Berkeley, California and presents a unique combination of a market, restaurant, grocery store & convenience store all blended together. We provide our customers with fresh produce, groceries, imported spices and a hot deli with delicious homemade sandwiches, curry, wraps, etc. prepared with fresh organic ingredients on a daily basis.

Our Founder, Deepak Singh was born and raised within the Newari culture in the Kathmandu Valley. Mr. Singh was influenced by his great grandmother's recipes consisting of a wide variety of unique flavorful dishes prepared from traditional Himalayan herbs and spices. Newar people are the indigenous inhabitants of Nepal located within the Kathmandu Valley and surrounding regions.

Expensive. Don’t go here. They over charge you and don’t even give the receipt. They take your card and charge however much they want. I wish I could give this 0 stars.

So expensive. Even more expensive than whole foods. 6 dollars for a dozen eggs is a joke! Will not come here for most of my grocery, just would stop by if I need 1 or 2 items.

Overpriced and the items are hit or miss. Somedays you’ll find what you need, somedays you won't. I bought 2 curry leaves packs, 4pk of Maggi and 0.9lbs of Paneer for 18$!!! And they don’t even give you a receipt. That’s atrocious, even for Berkeley. I only go here when I have no other options. Sadly, none of the other Indian stores are open late around here.

Staff is helpful. But charges you $0.5 if you shop for <$5. There are limited choices but you can handover list to the owner and he'll order for you.

Kind of a weird mix of an American convenience store with indian spices in the back. Some shelves were empty and it was not well organized. The selection is pretty limited, they have dal/rice/some spices but no pickle, or snacks.

Katmandu is not only an amazing multi-purpose corner / neighborhood store, but the family that owns/runs it are just lovely. Always leave with a smile because they are so damn cool!

Support local businesses !! This family run convenience store is my go-to whenever I run out of food/drink. The owners are absolutely amazing and so devoted to the community. Thank you for your great service!
