I'm Sarah: an Oakland California based photographer! I'm a natural born optimist and I literally smile behind the camera! I believe in finding joy in the everyday, that real emotions are better than perfectly posed, and that less is more. I freak out (in a good way!) over white walls, whimsical details, and pops of color.
I overuse exclamation points (sorry not sorry), have a strange obsession with farm animals (how are llamas so weirdly cute?), and could eat brunch every day of the week! I've also been a critical care nurse for 12 years, and I love how I get to combine both my creative and analytical brains with my work!

We'll schedule a phone call or meet over coffee to get to know each other, talk about your story/vision, and answer any questions you might have! This is where we put together the vision for your session! I'll scout out locations, put together a mood board, share my style guide, and help you gather some looks and outfit ideas!

Sarah was a huge joy to work with during my engagement session in June 2021 and wedding in August 2021! When I came across Sarah’s instagram in December 2020 I immediately fell in love with her colorful photography style and knew we had to book her for our wedding. After an introductory video conference we signed our contract. I could tell from Sarah’s warm and welcoming personality that we would get a long great. During our video call Sarah helped with creating the timeline and asked about our preference in photography (such as more candids, portraits, details, etc) which I really appreciated

Sarah is a dream to work with! She photographed our wedding ceremony - and we could not have asked for a better experience from pre-wedding to post-wedding. As naturally camera shy people, my husband and I were super appreciative that she made us so comfortable throughout the day. Our initial anxieties around being photographed went away once we got started.
Sarah also provided really great ideas for photo locations - hidden gems that we wouldn't have found otherwise. We are so happy with how our photos turned out, and can't wait to share with our friends and family.

I had the pleasure of working with Sarah for some new branding photos. She worked with me every step of the way, from finding a great location, to a pre-shoot prep call, to working her magic onsite! I felt super confident and prepared and Sarah is just a lovely person so it makes the whole shoot that much more fun. She also made a point to get lots of different types of shots so that I could use both photos of myself and product shots (I’m a pastry chef and brought lots of cake!) across a variety of platforms.
