We pay top prices for ferrous and non-ferrous metals including aluminum, copper, brass, batteries and car parts, stainless and specialty alloys. Give us a call or come on by for today's prices. A family owned recycling center since 1993 serving Tacoma and the Greater Puget Sound.
Services
Family owned Puget Sound Recycling was founded by Donny and Janet Bullard in 1993. We've been serving all of Tacoma/Pierce County continuously from our convenient location in South Tacoma. Puget Sound Recycling has been providing top-quality recycling, drop-off and pick-up services in Tacoma and the surrounding area for over 20 years.
Since 1993 we've been buying ferrous and non-ferrous metals in the Puget Sound area. Let us show you what scrap metals we deal with and how they are classified. By staying up to date with all commodities prices, Puget Sound Recycling is able to give you the best and most competitive price for your scrap metal.
We recycle all types of scrap steel and iron including appliances, fencing, car parts, sheet, etc. We don't take entire cars, but can take sizable chunks of steel depending on the details such as size, form, dimensions, etc. Steel is one of the more dense metals making it a lot heavier than most metals so be careful when you're moving it.
We recycle all types of stainless steel and other alloys containing nickel, chromium, and more. Pricing depends on the type of stainless and the alloy mix, but leave that to us. Most stainless you come in contact with will be your garden variety grade which fetches a good price. We'll take a look and let you know the grade and give you a fair price.
We buy all sorts of copper and brass from bare and sheathed wiring and piping to brass fittings and even brass fixtures and figurines. There are all types of different uses for brass and copper and we've seen it all. Both copper and brass have a bit higher pricing than other metals right now so stop on by and get the fairest prices in Tacoma.

Lady answering phone quoted 2.40. Showed up within 12 hours and price quoted by yard attendent: $1.80.
Yard attendant said she was new and misquoted the price. Nice and helpful people. Yard is close to my new house and may use them again. But I prob wont trust a phone quote.

Helpful and friendly staff. I visited this place for the first time because I had cleaned up around the house and had mix of whole bunch of metals. I found it easy to deal with them. I had asked how they operated since I did not know where to park or what to do. They asked me to park and they brought Bins to my truck. They even told me how to separate items to get most out of my recycling. All in all, a very good experience. It is nice that you don't have to pay to dump your metal items but rather get paid and knowing that it will be recycled into something else rather than going into landfill

Highly recommended! I've been recycling metal for the last 6-7 years as a supplemental income. I started using Puget sound 2 years ago and now prefer to take my metal here. The prices are always fair, if not the highest. The staff is honest and kind and they pay cash. Great place to recycle metal!

We are happy we found Puget Sound Recycling. 2 truck loads of misc metal. We would have had to pay to rid of at the local dump. We happily emptied our truck, And came back a few days later with more. Friendly and assisted with the unload. Thank you!

The most honest recycling company you'll find in Tacoma and the Puget Sound. Donny and Janet take great care of their customers and pay well for the metals. I've taken my aluminum cans and copper there for years and feel like part of the family. Great people running a great business.

Great local business for recycling copper, aluminum, etc. Friendly service, even for small amounts; perfect for those homeowner Spring Cleaning projects. Responsible business that checks photo ID to discourage copper-wire/street manhole-thieves :)

I've only been to a metal recycling yard a few times in my life. It can be pretty intimidating if you are not a "professional scrapper". But, i had a few larger items taking up space in my garage, so I thought why not scrap it and make a couple bucks instead of paying to take it to the dump? I found Puget Sound Recycling online, and since it was close, I thought it would be worthwhile. I must say this was the most pleasant transaction I've had. When I pulled up, TJ (I think?) greeted me, and even helped me sort my small load to maximise my payout. Not the least bit intimidating
