Thunder Mountain Lodge offers cabin rentals on the Grand Mesa. We also offer guided snowmobile tours on the Grand Mesa National Forest, and canoe, stand up paddleboard and other boat rentals for the lakes of the mesa. Services
We at Thunder Mountain Lodge are committed to providing clean and safe cabins for your enjoyment of the Grand Mesa. With that in mind, we will be reducing the number of blankets in each cabin. This will greatly reduce the spread of germs and the amount of laundry we have to do when cleaning each cabin.
Take Highway 65 north out of town - From the light in Cedaredge to the Grand Mesa Visitor's Center is about 16 miles. We are a 1/2 mile behind the Visitor's Center on the left. While you are staying with us, please make use of the community areas: the pavilion and the hammock sanctuary. In the pavilion you will find some charcoal grills.
With over 300 lakes, the Grand Mesa is a fishing paradise. There are many different types of trout to be caught, including Brook, Brown, Native Cutthroat, Rainbow, and Snake River Cutthroat. The Colorado Parks and Wildlife put together a really informative fishing atlas. When you open the atlas, you can search for a Colorado place.
Grand Mesa National Forest offers many different activities throughout the entire year. Thunder Mountain Lodge is centrally located and offers many different equipment rentals. Our guides would love to take you on a scenic snowmobile tour of the Grand Mesa National Forest! The Grand Mesa is known for having amazing snowmobiling!

WOW!!! If you want an amazing time snowmobiling, this is the place to go. They are all so friendly. Jeff the tour guide knows the area and take you on the most gorgeous views you'll ever see. This was my son and I's first time in a snowmobile. They are so easy to ride and Jeff tells you before you go riding the in's and outs of the machine and the trails you'll be on. If we could give them 10 stars we would. Thank you Jeff for an amazing morning this past weekend 1-23-2022. We highly recommend this place!!!

Three of us stayed in a cabin for 5 nights while renting sleds and had a fantastic time at the Lodge. Rustic cabins had everything we needed to cook, clean, and sleep while we relaxed after fantastic days on the surrounding trails. Jeff had great advice for where we should ride for the best experience to fit our skill set. Jessica has a knack for decoration and we enjoyed the art that she hung about the cabin. Looking forward to going back again as it's a fantastic location with incredible sights to behold.

We had a WONDERFUL time on the snowmobiling trials!! We chose the two hour toured adventure with Jeff & Jimbo. The trails were great and the stops were beautiful. We used the snow gear that was provided and stayed warm while seeing the sites. We also enjoyed a cup of hot chocolate with marshmallows to warm up before ending our fun. We WILL be back for more fun with our boys!! Thanks guys for a great time.

Highly recommend staying at their lodge to get the perfect cozy mountain cabin feel. I like the fact that they decorated it with items that gives you a natural feeling of living in the woods and that too at top of Grand Mesa.

We didn't stay at the lodge but took a 2 hour guided snow machining (snowmobile) tour around the Grand Mesa. Jessica was so sweet, took us on a great mix of open and established trails/roads, fresh powder trailblazing, open field romping, and more challenging hills and valleys. It was a gorgeous, scenic experience with stops for photos, and the hot chocolate was the perfect ending. Great location, great family, and even better experience for the whole family!

Jeff and Jessica (Owners) will ensure you are well taken care of and are extremely nice and friendly!! If snowmobiling you need to take advantage of Jeff's guide services. His adventures are guaranteed to suit your riding styles whether it be on a scenic trail touring the hundreds of lakes, or in the backcountry exploring some of the most technical terrain Colorado has to offer!

Wonderful! We stayed a weekend and had such an enjoyable experience! The cabin appeared newly renovated with beautiful wood furniture. The bathroom fixtures looked new and had everything we could have needed, from shampoo to makeup remover! The kitchen was well-appointed with everything we needed to prepare our meals.
The owners are amazing! They were incredibly helpful and everyone enjoyed the hot lattes and mocha sold in the office on such cold days! We highly recommend this place. You won't be disappointed! We will be back!!
