Services
Upon arrival you will notice how many people use bicycles for transportation in New Orleans. Riding a bicycle is THE BEST WAY to get around the city and to experience its cuisine, art, and culture. When you rent one of our bicycles you will get more than an optional helmet, bike lock, and a map. Our staff is composed of native New Orleanians who can help you craft an urban adventure around your interest.
The Flambeaux (pronounced: "flam-bow") are torches used for night parades during Mardi Gras season. Electric street lights were introduced to New Orleans in 1887. Before then Carnival Krewes relied on flambeaux carriers to light up the night so that revelers could see the fanciful floats. The flambeaux also served as guides that led the parades on their route.
Embarking from the historic core of the city, the Creole Odyssey traces the city's expansion into its surrounding bayous. Enjoy an extended ride under the shade of regal Live Oak trees as we journey down the opulent Esplanade Ridge. After visiting St. Louis Cemetery #3, you will cruise past swampy vistas in City Park, our largest public park.
On our Heart of the City small group bike tour you will trace the colonial history of New Orleans and its cultural treasures. Pedal through the flat, storied streets of the New Orleans' 5 oldest Creole neighborhoods while learning facts about New Orleans history from one of our expert guides. Exploring the city by bike lets you cover more ground than a walking tour but with the flexibility to stop often to take in your surroundings.

Took the tour yesterday with Eric the owner. We had a great time seeing New Orleans from a different perspective. Eric is very knowledgeable about the history and great at his job as the tour host. We also had a lot to talk about San Francisco too since that's where I'm from and he has lived there too. Cheers and thanks again Eric.

We came to New Orleans for a wedding and I was with friends who had never been before so I got to be in charge of planning. First order of business was the Creole Bicycle Tour. Best way to see the city and the different neighborhoods and learn about the colorful history of New Orleans. Eric, our guide, was amazing and knowledgeable and had plenty of suggestions on things to do while visiting. This tour was a highlight of our trip. Will definitely book again next time I’m down, which, hopefully will be sooner than later ❤️

My friend and I took this bicycle tour on Nov. 7th while visiting New Orleans for my birthday. I thoroughly enjoyed this tour! The tour guide, Eric, was very professional, courteous, funny and knowledgeable of New Orleans' history (not to mention he's easy on the eyes😉). I learned a great deal on this tour. I would definitely recommend taking this tour if you're in the New Orleans area. You won't be disappointed. It's a great way to see the city. Now that I've taken this tour, I'm definitely looking into purchasing a bike once I get home.😊

We’ve been to New Orleans many times but this was definitely the highlight of our trip! We learned so much and visited places outside of the quarter to see more of the real New Orleans. Eric is an amazing guide with so much passion for his city- This is a must do!!

Eric took such good care of us! So helpful, kind, and willing to help. The shop is located conveniently in the middle of the French Quarter, making it perfect for touring the city. He gave us routes to ride, tips on the city, and recommendations on where to eat. 10/10 would recommend this company to anyone touring the city or just wanting to enjoy a day on some wheels!

Took the Garden District tour w/ Barrett while my mom was in town and had such a great time! I highly recommend this tour to both locals and tourists. Barrett's stories were FABULOUS, interesting, and very well researched. I didn't feel like I was being fed "folklore" as a lot of other tour companies do. The tour is comprehensive with beautiful scenery and easy bike ridding! Will continue to recommend this tour when I have visitors in town!

Eric, the owner, was so kind and accommodating to our group of 8 riders. We were in town for Tulane family weekend and the tour and learning about the history of New Orleans was a great addition to our fun weekend! Jeremy, our tour guide and local musicians was very knowledgeable and fun to bike around town with! We did the Creole Odyssey tour and he took us to parts of town I definitely would not have visited on my own. The bike seats were comfy and the tour was a pleasant, easy ride- highly recommend

This was our favorite thing we did on our visit to New Orleans! We got to see parts of the city we would have missed and learned SO MUCH about the history, culture, and people of New Orleans. The passion and love of New Orleans by our tour guide Eric and everyone at Flambeaux really shined through, they made this a memorable and lasting experience for us. I can't wait to visit New Orleans again so I can take part II of this bike tour (and every other tour Flambeaux offers).

My sister and I are visiting from Milwaukee for a short weekend trip. Our first experience was taking the Heart of the City bike tour with Eric. It was an incredible three hours of biking around some of the best neighborhoods of New Orleans while listening to Eric’s infectious laugh and unending expertise of this magical city. This is my first trip to the Crescent City and Our time spent with Eric, who taught us so much about this city, is certainly one of the reasons that I will return.

We have used Flambeaux twice now to rent bikes and have had great experiences both times! The online process was quick and easy and they had everything ready for us right on time. They also provided us with a map and clear directions on how to get to the sites we wanted to see. We will definitely continue renting bikes from them in the future!

This is the BEST bike tour in New Orleans! We visited back in June and took a tour with Eric. He has a fun personality and we really enjoyed hearing him share some NOLA history. As tourists, this tour was the perfect way to see the city. We had a lot of experiences on our trip, but Flambeaux ended up being hands down our favorite part of this visit!

The Creole Odyssey ride was a highlight of our trip. Eric the guide (and owner, I believe) is a local who really loves and cares about sharing the history of his city. Our ride was 0ft elevation (aka flat) so easy riding around 8 miles in about 3 hours. We went to the Cafe Du Monde in City Park, which meant no line! And saw many other beautiful parts of the city I likely would not have discovered on my own.

Wonderful tour by Eric! He truly helped us make the best of a rainy day in New Orleans. We took the mid-city tour, which took us through some historic spots in the French quarter, but also all the way up to City Park - which was magically beautiful. Eric was incredibly knowledgeable, witty and enthusiastic. Would definitely do this again!

We had so much fun on this knowledgeable bike tour! Eric was great, he was super friendly, personable, knowledgeable, funny too! It's a nice slow paced bike ride throughout the city, and it didn't get us super tired. My group and I came from Los Angeles so we learned a bunch of history on New Orleans we never knew about. It was really interesting. We saw some other bike tours while we were on our tour and the guides looked boring! Lol no seriously. Our guy was much more lively. Glad we picked Flambeaux bike tours

Eric is a really good tour guide. When we arrived at his shop, he was very friendly and nice. Made us feel welcomed right away. The bikes are in good shape. Easy to ride and maneuver through the very busy streets. Eric, is the star of the show. LOVES New Orleans and it shows in his knowledge of the city. There were many people that shouted out his name and waved as we rode along. The places we stopped were interesting, full of history. Eric waits for everyone, rides at a very comfortable pace. Engages with everyone in the group. Great, great tour. When I come back, will come back to

Eric is the best tour guide. He is so enthusiastic and he really made the Creole Odyssey tour one of the best bike tours I've ever been on! If you don't have a lot of time in New Orleans, I highly recommend booking a bike tour with Flambeaux Bicycle Tours.
The Creole Odyssey tour takes you through the French quarter and Louis Armstrong Park, and a lot of other major NOLA spots! The tour is an even mix between biking and talking through the itinerary. There are multiple opportunities for pictures and fun facts!
Visiting NOLA during covid was definitely a risk since the restaurants
