Since the founding of Cochran Mortuary, the Cochran family has had one belief and direction. Cochran Mortuary was founded in 1928 at 1411 N. Lawrence Ave. (Now Broadway Ave.) in the home of it's founder, William F. Cochran, Sr. Cochran Mortuary's legacy of caring commitment to the Wichita community now spans 5 generations and over 75 years.

We understand that making the many decisions which come at a time of loss can be difficult. We offer our support by providing you with two options as you consider making immediate arrangements. Located conveniently in the Historic Midtown District, Cochran Mortuary & Crematory features an on-site crematory and the Chapel of the Roses, Wichita's most beautiful funeral chapel. A sign once said, "Back door friends are the best friends." Maybe its a bit ironic that the main entrance to our mortuary is in the back.

My husband past on Dec. 7th 2020. I was referred to Cochran Funeral Home by a very dear friend. The funeral Director at that time was professional in appears and had the low monotone voice which is required for such a position in life. However, she managed to screw up not one but two newspaper obituaries which upset several family members. This is where Mr. Michael Snell stepped in and made everything better. His kindness will not be forgotten. He took all the steps needed to correct the situation within the company and with me. I was very pleased with his compassion and services and will be using

Highly recommend Cochran. Michael Snell was so good to our family. It was so difficult to have to make the arrangements for our dear Jim. But with Michael Snells experience and guidance it was a walk in the park. I don't know how we could have got through this without his knowledge and love for helping families. From start to finish I was very pleased with Cochran Mortuary. Micheal Snell was the one to handle everything with my grandpa’s funeral. He was an absolute angel! He was always available to our family if we needed anything or had any questions. He is a very genuine man. I highly recommend anyone having to use this mortuary ask for him specifically.

Lilianna helped us with the cremation process of our 2 month old daughter in October. From the first time we saw her to the last, she showed such grace and empathy. She even helped us hold her, make hand and foot prints and clay impressions for keepsakes. She didn’t rush us, even though we stayed for hours to say goodbye. She was kind, caring and compassionate and everything I needed at that time. I hope to never recommend a funeral home, but if I do it will be Cochran.
