Tender Loving Care Senior Residence (TLCSR) is owned and operated by a Medical Doctor and Registered Nurse, who are also brother and sister. They are redefining Assisted Living & Senior Care by offering a Geriatrics trained MD & RN, who provide a high level of continuity, communication and coordination of care in a small personal, home setting.
They provide hands-on care several times a week to each resident and communicate with families on a regular basis about the resident's condition. Doctor, Shawn & Nurse, Kerry also communicate on a daily basis with their caregivers, to ensure everyone is up to date on resident's status. They are available day & night to assist with day to day issues, as well as, any emergencies that arise.

Tender Loving Care Senior Residence (TLCSR) is owned and operated by Shawn McGivney, MD and Kerry McGivney, RN. Both have extensive Geriatric Experience as a Medical Doctor (MD) and a Registered Nurse (RN). This brother and sister duo have had long passion to help seniors that started when they were young and helped their parents care for their Grandma Esther, when she came to live with their family.
TLCSR premier assisted living is different than all other settings. Our model of care is based on strong leadership from Geriatrics Trained, MD & RN, who have the knowledge & expertise needed to deliver quality care to healthy seniors and seniors with Chronic Medical Issues. We utilize a team approach, working together day in and day out with our staff.
Dr. Shawn McGivney MD, RFA, has spent most of his life learning and serving people in the community. More specifically, his learning & training is focused on aging, disabilities and chronic illnesses. He has been board certified in both, Internal Medicine and Geriatrics. He has always had a unique ability to embrace leadership roles and has enjoyed being a community advocate.
Kerry has 15 years of experience in nursing. She has been involved with numerous renowned hospitals and healthcare centers before opening her own assisted care center. She holds a BS in nursing, offers direct care to residents, and works alongside her brother Dr. Shawn McGivney. She endeavors to eliminate the shortcomings of the healthcare system and instill in it the much needed care and compassion.
Since Tender Loving Care Senior Residence (TLCSR) opened in 2009, TLCSR has achieved an "A "rating on every annual state inspection, which is the highest grade possible. TLCSR is proud to repeatedly adhere to regulations & achieve the highest grade in a state that has one of the nation's highest regulatory standards for Group Homes or Assisted Living Facilities, Nevada.

There are no words to express the gratitude I have for the care provided to my father by the TLC family. Prior to TLC my father was in at least three "memory care units" where lots of promises were made regarding the patient centered care that would be provided and the expertise of handling any difficult behavioral problems that come with progression of altzheimer's. As a nurse practitioner I thought I had done my due diligence with researching the facilities. I was wrong. Dr. Shawn is AMAZING! The doctor actually towers above ALL his peers and is a master of the nuances of elderly care. With my 85 year old aunt he patiently absorbed massive amounts of complex interrelated behavior, pinpointed issues, and succinctly suggested practical & appropriate treatment. He spends extra time and effort whereas other physicians practice minimalistic interaction which often results in hollow findings and shallow treatment plans. He has an integrated 360 degree perspective with a solid understand of business and how things work. In the elderly care space he is a shinning beacon

My dad sadly was only there a short time before he passed, however the staff was Amazing, and Caring . Since i live out of state they kept me very informed of his health and his activities. Such a plus to have Dr McGivney right there on site ! The entire staff was always willing to help ! You guys are the best.

The staff at TLC was very loving to my mother while she live there. Dr. Mcgivney was able to diagnose some things with my mom that other doctors had not and moving her there increased the quality of her life for her last little while on this earth. They are very engaging and have activities that are scheduled daily and I really like that it's more of a home-like setting and they have dinner around the dinner table together and are able to interact in the kitchen while the staff Cooks, it makes it seem much more like a home instead of a hospital setting. I cannot say enough good things about Tender Loving Care Senior Residence - they deserve a million stars. For the last 24 years I have been in the Army and have not been able to spend much time with my father. He has been battling Parkinson's Disease over the same time period. I recently retired to Las Vegas and wanted to move him close. From the moment I walked into this place I could tell it was special. This is the next best thing to having your parent living in their home with 24/7 caregiving. Actually, it's better!! There are plenty of staff to assist and interact with the residents, the staff checks and documents everything daily, there are daily activities for the residents, healthy & tasty meals, and plenty of people for my mom to talk with as well as the option to retreat to her private room. What a blessing to have found this Residence.

I count my lucky stars every day that I found TLC for my mother. All the caregivers at TLC are professional, kind, friendly, and capable and treat the residents with dignity and respect as if they were one of their own family members. Dr. Shawn and Kerry are outstanding. The home is beautiful and kept spotless. You can have complete confidence that your loved one will be cared for by the best team. I am SO grateful for TLC.

This home maintains all the comforts of home a senior could want as they start to need more assistance. They really strive to make it as family like and home like as possible. We suggest you visit them to get a first hand feel of who you are working with. We strongly suggest you meet the administrator and owner of any home you move to or you will often be surprised at the care that comes after that. The management does determine the staff, staffs actions, and type of care provided.
