Hicks & Company was founded in 1988 by Sandra Hicks as a small, woman-owned offering specialized services in archeology, ecology, and project management under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and other federal and state environmental statutes.

Hicks & Company Environmental/Archeological Consultants is a small, woman-owned environmental consulting firm that provides the full range of environmental management and planning services throughout Texas and the southwest. Since 1988, our team of experienced professionals has been dedicated to seeing our clients through the often complicated environmental process in a proficient and cost-conscious manner.
The Ecology Program at Hicks & Company provides quality technical, policy and problem-solving expertise in the areas of threatened and endangered species, wetlands and habitat conservation planning, among other areas.
Hicks & Company maintains current permits issued by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to conduct surveys for species listed as threatened or endangered and legally collect and/or relocate wildlife during quantitative field studies.I am fortunate to be part of such a well-rounded team.

The Historic Resources Program at Hicks & Company specializes in the areas of history, architectural history, archival research, field surveys, and mitigation planning.
Our staff meets the Secretary of the Interior's Professional Qualifications Standards and is well versed in state and federal regulations, including the Antiquities Code of Texas, Sections 106 and 110 of the National Historic Preservation Act, the National Environmental Policy Act, and Section 4(f) of the U.S. Department of Transportation Act.

Hicks & Company has experience in the development of geologic assessments, including mapping of karst features and caves, for a variety of public and private projects over the Edwards Aquifer. Our geologic assessments meet TCEQ requirements and are designed to support Water Pollution Abatement Plans and Organized Sewage Collection System plans.
