It enables me to use my artistic skills in creating aesthetic results and to use evidence-based scientific methods to help people achieve healthy, beautiful smiles. I love working with my hands and taking the time and effort to get every detail right.

This young man presented at our office with severely decayed teeth and a desire for a new smile. We restored tooth 6 with a composite, teeth 9 and 10 were removed and implants placed.

Staff is friendly..even though it was lunchtime Angela helped with paperwork.
Asked frequently if I was comfortable or needed something..got me water..

Dr. Karl and Dentistry NW are kind, caring and a wonderful team. I had a traumatic experience as a child with the dentist, so I am terrified of switching dentists, I switched after 24 years because my dentist sold his practice. Dentistry NW came highly recommended and I'm so thankful I switched to them. If you are contemplating a new dentist, this is the place for you.

Dr. Smith is caring, thorough, knowledgeable and personable. I've had cleanings done by 3 different technicians and they were all excellent. Recently we changed insurance plans and the administrative person was EXTREMELY helpful with the new plans and also set us up with paperwork for future visits. We first started visiting during the first COVID restrictions and the office, staff and medical personal were very thorough in adhering to wearing protective gear and following safety protocols during dental care. They continue to go over and above following safety protocols. Highly recommended.

Love this place and the team! Everyone is super friendly and will work with you to address your dental needs. I have a severe gag reflex and the dental team has worked with me over the years to minimize its impact while doing dental work. They have always been patient with me and have never made me feel bad for the gag reflex. Highly recommend!

Given that we're in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, I expected the office to have taken additional precautions to protect patient health, however I was disappointed to discover otherwise. I was initially impressed when they asked me the health-screen questions on the phone, and within 10 minutes of being brought to the chair, my temp was taken. However, there were 3 unmasked patients sitting in the waiting room (masks were hanging around necks) and EVERY dental chair that I could see in the back, was filled with patients. I've lived in Tacoma 2.5 years and looking for the quality dentist most of that time. I had a quality person in my previous hometown.
Although, I have had only three visits, I'm very impressed with the professionalism, friendliness, and knowledge of dental care starting with the initial phone call, to the front office staff, hygienist and, of course, Dr. Smith.

I started coming to Dentistry Northwest in May of this year. I hadn't been to the dentist in years because I was terrified and after the time had gone by I was terrified of judgement. If this sounds anything like you- you are not alone! Dr. Smith and every member of his staff are the most caring people I have ever worked with. Not one ounce of judgement from one person. The hygienists will go at your pace and give you breaks if you need it. I am extremely sensitive to injections and they always help me through that process and they really listen to me. Went here today after a horrible experience with Peak Dental on 6th almost a year ago & I was so pleased that I told all of my friends! The hygienist, receptionist, and Dr were all very personable. Fast X-rays, exam, and open on Saturdays so I don't have to take off-Highly Recommend! I have not met Dr Smith yet.

The only reason that I am giving them 4/5 and not a full 5 stars is due to Dr Nartea. I find that he seems "checked-out" at work and that he doesn't have the same passion for his job that Dr. Baer does.
Case in point, I was asking Dr. Nartea a question at the end of a cleaning appointment. Halfway through my question, he simply walked out of the room without saying anything to me. I looked at the hygienist and all she could do was shrug and try to answer my question the best she could.

I went here after purchasing one of their Groupon deals, and I've been going back ever since. The dental assistants are very nice, as is the front desk staff. The dentists can be a little rough, but that's alright. They respected the fact that I didn't want to buy anything other than the services I was there for (cleaning, etc).
What I don't like is that they require you to have x-rays every year or two. Since I don't have dental insurance, this is extremely costly for me. They have been very gracious in letting me put it off.

Dentistry NW is the place to go for any dental needs. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The office is newly upgraded and their equipment is upto date. Dentistry NW is the place to go if you are particular with infection control.
I have been a patient of Drs Baer and Nartea for almost ten years. My entire family is very pleased with their work. I had my veneers done by Dr Nartea and to this day I still have compliments how nice my teeth looked not knowing my teeth are veneered. Dr. Baer is very patient with children and my little 8 year old enjoys going to see him.
