Golden Star Chinese Restaurant

This was our first time ordering from Golden Star and we were not disappointed. Our food was very yummy and it was ready and waiting when we walked in. The one thing I will say is that I wish the combinations were better explained on the website. We didn't know what we were getting (it ended up being fried rice and an egg roll).

My go to place for Chinese food. The staff is always friendly, the food is good, and the homemade duck sauce is delicious.

Golden Star is our go-to favorite for Chinese takeout. Consistent dishes, good quality, good prices, friendly people, and local business! Service is usually quick, but definitely check your takeout order because sometimes they get busy and miss a sauce or side.

An authentic Chinese place. My all time favorites- Chicken Wings, Singapore Rice Noddles and Black Pepper Chicken. You will not be disappointed with the quality and taste of the foods. A must try!

Food is decent but they like to tell you the charge is one thing and then it's actually different. My advice is don't pay with card because they'll charge a "tip". I have no issue tipping food workers as they do honest work, but I don't support a dishonest practice like that. Let customers decide what to tip you, don't make it up for yourself.

Food is fresh. However, their daughter that I work with came on after me for her lunch went behind the counter kitchen area chose what she wanted to eat. Never washed her hands or used gloves!! Really turned me off!

Amazing dishes, each with their own unique flavor and texture and they all come in outstanding portions. Will be back again.

Don't know why this place is rated so low I actually really enjoyed their lo mein and general tso's! Super crispy and fresh the sauce was very tasty as well and noodles were made pretty decent too. Online they didn't have an option to substitute the fried rice for noodles so I called them and they were really nice and accommodating. Def a great go-to Chinese spot!

My father and I had some Chinese food for lunch. I had the grilled chicken with broccoli and the dish was very tasty. I would consider going back again.

Pretty good spot if you are craving Chinese food. I went with my normal order of General Tso's chicken and Sesame Chicken. Both tasted exactly as they should. The General Tso's was smaller pieces of chicken almost bite sized which was a little unique. The flavor was good and the rice was cooked well.

If you are craving Chinese check this place out! Solid spot.

I was back in my home area and was craving the boneless pork. This place is very good. They are very fast and friendly with placing and fulfilling your order. Everything I have tried here I have not had any complaints.

I love Chinese food and I always have a go to order. General Tso Chicken. Never have I been disappointed from anywhere I've ordered this until trying this restaurant out. The food itself didn't taste bad but I found a big chunk of raw meat in it and I couldn't tell what is was. It didn't look like the other general tso or the meat from the rice. It looked gross. And i started to think of all those PETA go vegan advertising where they show "what's really in your food" and yeah it looked like that. I had to stop eating now I'm considering veganism.

Good for lunch. Turnaround is pretty quick on menu orders. Limited seating, but they have a diverse menu and are pretty consistent in quality of food for both Chinese and Thai-style staples. I've only tried their lunch orders, so I can't really comment on the steam table offerings.

Great variety of food. Always willing to accommodate requests for vegetarian or vegan dishes. Tasty have many tasty dishes. Some of our favorites are the Pad Thai noodles; Thai Bean Curd with Broccoli; Singapore Noodles; Sesame Chicken; Lo Mein noodles.

Top notch food; very good portions on the lunch specials and combination platters too!

We visited Golden Star Chinese Restaurant to get some takeout food. They are located in a strip center off Easton Avenue in South Bound Brook. They have adequate off street parking. It was a Saturday evening and they were busy, mostly with phone in orders. They have a dining room which was mostly used by people waiting for takeout but they still have a few nice tables for 4 person groups and one very sweet large round tavern table able to accommodate a group of eight.
