Our name comes from two very simple words that strike at the heart of who we are and what we do. Salt is essential to the human diet. The only rock we eat, it is the oldest and most ubiquitous seasoning in food around the world and a basic human taste. It is critical to our survival. It has also shaped civilization from its very beginning.

From your first call through the end of the party, our sales, culinary and operations team members are committed to exceeding your expectations while delivering excellent food and service for each event.
Salthouse Catering is excited to offer a wide selection of Gourmet to Go menus that are available for contact free delivery or curbside pickup from our James Island kitchen. Easy, online ordering and payment options are available. Designed for the smaller group settings, these menus features a wide variety of ready to serve, chef prepared items to bring some of our favorite menu items from Salthouse to your house.

Through our broad network of farmers, fisherman and bakers, we can source ingredients that speak to our region while supporting local and small businesses like ours.

We chose Salthouse as our caterer for a wedding of 150 people. We chose stationed meals, and 3 stations plus cocktail hour apps led to very well fed guests! Vince and his team were absolutely amazing to work with through the planning process. The menu that Vince helped us put together was AMAZING, and we felt like we were eating a 5 star meal during the tasting session and during the wedding itself. They even packed us up a big goody bag of leftovers to take! (Their fried chicken and Mac and cheese is so good that I ate it cold the day after the wedding without any problems). Vince was so patient

If you are looking for a wedding catering company look no further, Salthouse is the best of the best. Salthouse made our wedding day an absolute dream, our guests are still talking about the most unreal and delicious food at any wedding they have ever had. Vince at Salthouse took care of all of our needs, he is the most detailed person I have ever met and he genuinely cares about each of his bride and grooms needs. We hired Salthouse to cater our wedding and they did an amazing job. They offered a wide variety of options when planning our menu and we ended up with a diverse and delicious menu that really reflected our desire to represent the Lowcountry. The team was professional, friendly, and prompt. Highly recommend to anyone in need of a catering company for an event large or small.

I am so beyond happy we chose Salthouse as our caterer for our wedding. Vince was so responsive and helpful through the whole planning process and reassuring of any worries or possible changes through Covid. I am still having people tell me how delicious the food was and how beautiful our oyster display was. We tested a couple places but were blown away by the options (and taste!) of everything Salthouse offered. They are fantastic and I highly recommend!!

There are not enough words to describe how thankful I am for Vince and the Salt House team. I had a small intimate wedding May 21, 2021 & they truly made my whole day. Vince worked with me every step of the way and was so incredibly kind and detail oriented. The food was outstanding, my guest are still messaging me about how good it was and the service was wonderful. I am so grateful they were apart of my day.

Salthouse helped make our vegan wedding dreams come true! The food was absolutely delicious and Vincenzo and the team really went above and beyond to help us plan, taste and serve really amazing food at both our rehearsal and wedding reception. They were extremely accommodating for our request for fully plant-based meals and we served dishes including buffalo cauliflower bites, white bean meatballs, eggplant parmesan, Impossible burger sliders, teriyaki mushroom skewers and penne a la vodka. I highly recommend working with Salthouse, you won't be disappointed!

If you are looking to stun your guests with incredible food and drinks at your wedding Salthouse is the way to go. The food is absolutely to die for. We couldn't have been more pleased and our guests were raving about the food. Many of our guests said it was hands down the best food they had ever had at a wedding and we couldn't agree more. From the first time we spoke to Vince to the final goodbye to the chef at the end of the evening Salthouse was first class. We had three different wedding dates and they were so flexible with us, and our guest count was constantly changing due to border restrictions

We used Salthouse for our rehearsal dinner, and everything was perfect! Vince was so easy to work with and incredibly responsive to any emails that we had. We tweaked the menu several times so that it was just right, and he didn’t mind working with us throughout the process. His recommendations were spot on, and he has a wealth of knowledge that helped us plan the perfect menu. Salthouse had a short window of time to setup the event due to regulations of the venue, and they pulled it off flawlessly! Our guests raved about the food taste and preparation.
