Let's take a moment to talk about eyebrows and other permanent makeup procedures. As artists, our vision for cosmetic tattooing is simple, soft and natural daywear makeup. Keep in mind that even though the makeup fades and does not last forever like body art, it's still "permanent" with remnants of color for many years.
Microblading is a technique within the cosmetic tattooing industry (permanent makeup) whereby the technician uses simulated hair strokes inside, around, and in between the clients natural hair which gives the appearance of a fuller eyebrow. The best candidates for this procedure are clients who have sufficient natural hair so that the simulated hair can blend naturally without the obvious appearance of too many "tiny lines" on your eyebrows.
Tattoo art has been around for over 5000 years originating in Tahitian, Polynesian, and African cultures. For centuries people have used tattoos for spiritual, religious and cultural reasons. The word tattoo became popular in Europe and the West in 1769 when the explorer Joseph Banks published a journal about the natives from the South Pacific and their beautifully adorned bodies.

Because of a thyroid condition I had no eyebrows to speak of so I always wore a hairstyle with bangs. Not any more - because of Mara and Gabrielle I have amazing eyebrows and I have the confidence to wear any hairstyle I want. Their prices are amazing and their work is outstanding. Have been going to Gabby and Mara for three years for eyebrow tattooing. Just had a touch up this weekend; in the last three days, I have had someone ask me to teach them how to do their eyebrows and a friend asked if I was using a new brow pencil because my brows look so good.

Mara has done cosmetic tattooing of my eyebrows about once a year for the past 4 years. She is thoughtful and communicates well about the procedure and what to expect. Her rates are lower than others in the business. I have been pleased with the results. I have very light eyebrows and tattooing looks much better than when I try to darken them with makeup. The first couple minutes of the procedure are uncomfortable but it eases.

I have been visiting from Florida several times and had permanent makeup done by Mara in January .. I had my touch up with Gabrielle in March and the final results are AMAZING! Many times cosmetic tattooing is a two step process. I appreciate the professionalism. The technique she used was a combination of micro-hair strokes and shading. I LOVE my eyebrows ❤️

I live in Europe and came to visit family in the area. My mom (87) and sister wanted to get eyeliner done and talked me into going along. We all had back to back appointments with Mara - my mom & sister got their upper lids done - I had both upper and lower ones done. I couldn't be happier with the results. Mara was very upfront about what to expect in terms of pain and outcome (hint: it does hurt - some tolerate it better than others; the results are SO worth it). She was especially attentive to my mom which was really appreciated as her tolerance for pain was a lot less than mine. I'm now back

This is my personal experience with the microblading process. I purchase a voucher from Groupon and was excited about my upcoming appointment since my eyebrows have thinned considerably over the years. I learned from Mara that I was not the best candidate for the full microblading technique because I didn't have enough natural eyebrow hairs and that a combination of microblading and micro shading would look more natural eliminating the look of "tiny lines" on my eyebrows in areas where I didn't have enough hair to blend.
