Atlanta Psychological Associates (APA) is a multidisciplinary behavioral health company founded in 1978. All of APA's staff have at least twenty years of professional experience and most have teaching and research appointments. APA currently has two locations in the Atlanta area and provides a complete range of mental health related services.
Our clients include private and regional medical hospitals, educational programs, law enforcement agencies, private industry, attorneys, local and national governments, healthcare firms and mental health/substance abuse treatment programs. Dr. DeFilippis has been in private practice since 1978. He received his professional training at the University of Iowa and the University of South Florida. He is board certified in clinical and neuropsychology and has published or presented internationally in both areas.
Dr. DeFilippis has held several teaching appointments and is currently a Professor in a clinical psychology doctoral training program accredited by the American Psychological Association.In that program he is the Coordinator of the neuropsychology training concentration. Ms. Natter is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Addiction Counselor.

The staff of APA regularly provides a full range of mental health and behavioral management services. APA associates have over 25 years of experience coordinating the provision of complete evaluation services for patients with chronic pain problems. Treatment plans are developed to meet the unique needs of each client.
APA staff has provided talks for numerous professional and business audiences. Due to our extensive teaching backgrounds, we are skilled in presenting on a wide range of topics in the area of behavioral health. I really like this guy...very well informed & up-to-date on all the new stuff (pharma) & does NOT push the trendy designer drugs for any cause other unless he feels you just might benefit from it...truly.
He is open to listening to all...alll...of my actual, real life issues which sometimes seen (to me) to be insurmountable or horribly shameful or whatever other reason I can conjure up to flagellate my self worth with. All I know is I'm getting better & Dr. Horwitz has helo ME to keep ME, grounded & maintain healthy perspective. He has perfected the authentic art of balancing professionalism

Dr Horwitz is a wonderful, caring and kind man. He loves his patients and they trust him. He has been such a blessing to me for over fifteen years now.
I have been through a lot over the years and Dr Horwitz has been there for me every step of the way.
BTW, his office is located in a really beautiful place(pictured). Very peaceful.

SO personable and has always made me feel comfortable. He was my doctor from 2007-2013. I moved to Texas for a few years and saw a regular MD for my prescription needs (totally not the same). I just moved back earlier this year and was beyond amazed that my name was still in his scheduling system ANDDDD I was able to get an appointment for the very next day. His office fee is nominal in comparison to other doctors in the area and his front office staff returns scheduling calls in a timely manner. Thank you, Doctor Horwitz!!!

Let me start off by saying that dr horwitz is the absolute best psychiatrist that me and my kids have ever been to. If it wasn't for him, my daughter Kimberly would be in a mental hospital, we have been going to him for many years (about 10) . He really does genuinely care about his patients. Just recently the insurance we switched to doesn't have him in their network but we are hoping to get switched back to my old insurance soon. So if you are wanting a dr that listens and really cares, this is him, you will be satisfied, he is the best

Ive been seeing Dr. Horowitz for a good three or four years now . If I were to describe him I would call him gracious and non- judge mental. I have had some psychiatrists in the past who ended up going out of business quickly so I’m glad that Dr. Horowitz is someone I know will stay around for a while that I can count on . I see him every three months and I think he is a very good doctor if you are looking for long-term care . Time is valuable so appointments are quick and easy . And I’m very happy he finally got the online scheduling set up for future appointments. I was
