A video scan allows us to see the interior portion of the chimney cavity that we cannot view from a Level 1 inspection. If you cannot see it from the base or when looking down from the top, it does not mean there is no issue with the inside of your chimney. There could be gapping, spacing, missing brick or flue sections, cracks splitting through flues.

Acid Testing for Brick:EMG Industrial will take and send sample brick to a lab where it will be tested on both ASTM Standard C270, "Standard Specification for Chemical Resistant masonry Units", and also a method on Acid Corrosion Resistance of Refractory Ceramics. The brick will be at the lab testing for 21 days.

Whether it be vertically to reach a required heightor horizontally to meet a distance requirement, chimneys often need to be extended. Extensions typically require scaffolding for access, welding for the pipe extension and often roof penetrations for the bracing needed to support the pipe.
