San Francisco Yacht Club
Located on the shore of Belvedere Cove, The San Francisco Yacht Club is one of the leading yacht clubs in North America. Known for its sublime setting, superb harbor and community of members dedicated to life on the water, The SFYC operates year-round. The SFYC Auxiliary, comprised of female members, is proud of its 68 years of service to The San Francisco Yacht Club.

Founded in 1953, this group provides social opportunities for Members and their families, and facilitates fundraising activities to benefit Youth Sailing and Club projects. Founded in 1869, the San Francisco Yacht Club is the oldest yacht club on the West Coast. The original Clubhouse, located in San Francisco, was the first yacht club west of the Mississippi.
Services
The SFYC Auxiliary is proud of its 68 years of service to the San Francisco Yacht Club, beginning in 1953 when a committee was created to raise funds to purchase new deck furniture! Today, the Auxiliary provides social opportunities for members and their families in addition to developing and implementing selected fundraising activities to benefit Youth Sailing and other Club projects.
The San Francisco Yacht Club was founded to encourage yachting and assist members in becoming proficient in a wide range of water- and boat-centric pursuits, to promote social activities among members, and to encourage intellectual contact, the exchange of ideas and the development of common interests with respect to yachting.
The San Francisco Yacht Club has a long tradition of sailing and racing excellence dating back more than 150 years. Members of the SFYC have won Olympic medals and raced in all corners of the globe. Wide recognition of the Club's race management capabilities have enabled the SFYC to attract significant national and international championship regattas.
Our internationally renowned racing program would not be possible without the support of dedicated member and non-member volunteers from the broader sailing community. Volunteering for Race Committee is a great way to give back to the Club, meet new people, learn more about racing and get acquainted with the Club if you're hoping to apply for membership.
Since its founding in 1869, SFYC has hosted thousands of days of racing on one of the country's most celebrated bodies of water. Stored in the archives of our clubhouse are sketches of the Club's first race courses, as well as thrilling reports of our earliest regattas which were covered in detail in The San Francisco Chronicle.

This is a private club for members, their guests and members of cooperating clubs.

The location is 5 Star. deck looks over the marina and to the bay beyond.

We just went for appetizers and drinks. They were very good and came fast. try the coconut shrimp or the chips and salsa.

service great as well

My fiance surprised me on my birthday with a Gondola Ride. I was expecting it to be kind of cheesy, but it was really really fun and romantic. We are Long Beach residents, and got a view of the gorgeous houses of Naples that we would have normally not seen. Highly recommend it, bring a bottle of good wine and they will set everything else up for you!

Beautiful setting looking at San Francisco. Not open to the public for eating unless you have a reciprocating yacht club membership. In the gorgeous town of Tiburon.

A private club that offers a nice dining experience. They also rotate the food on the menu so if you go here often it's not always the same.

This is a very lovely private club venue with a charming, subtle view of San Francisco across the water. Unfortunately, the restaurant is at sea level so diners must look through the yachts to enjoy the view. The second floor dining room view that the Golden Gate Club offers is more captivating.

The indoor dining room is elegantly appointed with sailing photos and some excellent paintings on the walls. There is a magnificently hand-sewn quilt depicting sailing scenes from the area and I feel it is a big mistake to have relegated this masterpiece to the ladies' powder.

Full Disclosure: Members since 1996. Always a good time. Private events are formal, so don't be put out if your not prepared, but this is a RACING yacht club with a first class restaurant. The BAR is unbelievable with the same bartenders for the duration of my membership. Unique, relaxing, comfortable. LOVE

Spectacular views. Easy parking lot with bathrooms that stay unlocked. Members only ice machine lol // I love the reciprocal docking. My Uncle belongs to the Richmond Yacht Club and we can leave his boat in Belvedere if there wind isn't picking up enough to get us back before dusk.

The views here are really spectacular, the patrons are a little snobbish.

Staff were nice and friendly, a little abrupt with us at times, but we were a group of 20 ish people and so I imagine it wasn't the best crowd to service on a football sunday.

Bar tender wasn't experienced in drinks which is disappointing, and the chef made a decision to serve me a burnt english muffin with my eggs benedict, which is really a shame when you consider the price; it doesn't take that long to re do it, and yes, you think the egg will hide it, but that shouldn't be an excuse for serving burnt

If you're not a member then you can't come here unless you're with a member.

So we had a couple of drinks after the Giants game and wow... ordered almost 12 drinks and the tab was only $30. I was told that this isn't your "ordinary bar" and were they right.

The patrons and staff are super friendly as well.. great views.. stiff drinks.. maybe I should be a member....

I had the pleasure of staying at a new friend's house when she was traveling with her husband. The husband happened to be a world class sailor and I got to go to the award ceremony to one of his races held at the SFYC. This was a true pleasure. Fine People. Fine Drinking. Excellent decor. I didn't sample the food so I'm not sure, but I'd be shocked if it was poor. All in all a pleasurable place with a wonderful location.

Go if you can. Unlike Wes T. I found the children to be delightful.

Funny that a yacht club named San Francisco Yacht Club is located across the bay in Tiburon. But this club is actually the oldest club in the Bay and the predecessor to the St. Francis Yacht Club, which IS located in San Francisco.

SFYC is a charming contrast to St.FYC in that the club house is a low-key single story building with casual almost residental-like layout. Indeed, it's located in a residential neighborhood so it had to blend in with the million dollar houses surrounding the club.

I enjoy arriving at SFYC early on regatta weekends and have a full breakfast on the patio and

Maybe I have hit my head on too many buoy's, but man it is fun to try and be a sailor. All my memories of fresh crab, cold beer, the spray of the ocean, and he flapping of the sails...aw, so lovely.
