Chavez-Grieves was founded in November of 1980 by Vic Chavez and Dave Grieves. Along with a single employee, our two founders started the company in the back office of an architectural firm in Albuquerque, NM after experiencing revolving doors of staff coming and going at their prior firms.
Vic and Dave started CG with the goal of creating an organization that could be passed on from generation to generation and where people had the opportunity to build a career and leave a legacy.In the early years, they had no idea what a special organization the little engineering firm they started would become.

I-ENG-A is the nation's oldest and largest network of investigative engineering firms and provides Chavez-Grieves with, among many other resources, a national network of experts to support our investigative engineering initiatives.I-ENG-A also provides Chavez-Grieves access to a national Catastrophe (CAT) Response Team, capable of providing investigative engineering and inspection services in the wake of any type of disaster.

Chavez-Grieves offers Special Inspection services through a team of highly qualified, knowledgeable, and experienced structural engineers and technicians. Our inspectors take pride in seeing each project through to its successful completion and all of our inspectors are very knowledgeable with current building codes and inspection practices.

Had reached out to several structural firms and was having a hard time getting a response or call back for some questions on an inspection. Joe reached out to me a day later after sending over a message. I scheduled my inspection online which is always super convenient to do. I hate bogging someone down for them to go scrolling through their calendar to find an opening. The preinspection guidelines came in the week before the inspection with good information and an online invoicing system, (greatly appreciated also)
