By offering extraordinary early childhood education, Providence Preparatory School prepares children for life, learning and leadership while enriching family life in the Charlotte community. Our chefs prepare breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack using a combination of fresh, locally grown whole foods (subject to seasonal availability), fruits, vegetables and herbs.

The Christian Faith Formation curriculum offers, on an opt in basis, an age-appropriate non-denominational exposure to the Bible for toddlers through Pre-K. Children can explore light and shadow with the projector, create with a wide variety of art supplies and open ended materials, mold with clay, and develop a curiosity with science and sensory materials.
Services
I was in the commercial real estate development business since 1982. In 2007, a good friend asked me if I would join the board of an aging non-profit "nursery" Christian childcare ministry that was affiliated with our church. It was located in a historically high-risk neighborhood in Charlotte. This childcare facility was challenged by its out-of-date building and dwindling enrollment.
Our team of preschool educators embraces and shares the vision of providing extraordinary early childhood education for the children from Charlotte enrolled at Providence Preparatory School. Collectively, PPS' preschool management team in Charlotte have worked in early childhood education for more than eighty years and hold multiple degrees and certifications.
Smart Start of Mecklenburg County was honored and grateful to have Providence Preparatory School as a partner and presenting sponsor of their annual Opportunity for Influence Breakfast. Former Governor James Hunt was the keynote speaker and challenged all parents and organizations in Mecklenburg County to do their part and ensure that every child enters kindergarten healthy and ready to learn!
Nursing Nook: In our Infant Suite we have a spa~inspired room for our moms who would like to breast feed on their lunch hour or before they leave the school for work. The Nursing Nook is equipped with comfortable seating, nursing pillows, hand washing sink, a refrigerator for milk storage and a television.

We have just left Charlotte (and PPS) and have moved back to cold NY. We had moved to Charlotte 3 years ago at the time of this writing, and the priority at that time was to find the best Pre-School for our 3 yo daughter. Our daughter graduated the PPS pre-K program into Kindergarten, and we have had our 4 year old over two years years, after moving him around to other S. Charlotte Pre Schools waiting for a slot to open up at Providence Prep ( his sisters school). Why am I writing this if I don't live in Charlotte any more? We just moved our 4 year old from another pre-K program here in NY, and

We love this pre-school. The staff are very good with our daughter and the place is always spotlessly clean! The progress our daughter has made over the last 18 months while a student at PPS has been astounding - we have such a great relationship with her teachers and leadership at this school. Highly recommend!
