Many problems can go unseen due to the location of the chimney. Most problems go unnoticed until the damage makes its way from the roof to a more noticeable location of the home. Water damage is the most common cause of damage to homes due to chimney problems. Having your chimney inspected is the first step in discovering these issues and remediating the problems.
Having your chimney waterproofed by a professional can prevent costly water damage repairs to your home as well as cosmetic and structural damage such as efflorescence, a white chalky residue on the masonry wall, and spalling, deteriorations of the masonry. All products used are specially formulated for masonry waterproofing which repels water yet is breathable and allows water vapor from inside the chimney and brick to escape.
The Smoke Chamber of the fireplace is the area from the damper to the start of the flue tile which starts wider at the bottom and narrows as it reaches the top. It is reported that the majority of house fires caused by the use of a fireplace begin in the smoke chamber for two reasons. Typically this area is unlined and is constructed simple of brick and mortar.
The purpose of a chimney is to expel smoke and gases produced by fireplaces and other appliances therefore making the opening at the top a necessity. However this opening also can lead to issues if not properly covered. Chimney caps provide protection from water entering through the flue causing the damper and liners to rust or cracking and spalling of the liners.
Water vapor, heat, gases and water damage can cause mortar, brick or tile to breakdown within the chimney flue and expose your home to fires or carbon monoxide leaks into the living area. Chimney relining is the most typical, as well as most affordable, way to rectify most chimney problems within the chimney flue due to deterioration, fire, or weather related damage.

They guarantee their work which is great, but it's very difficult to get ahold of somebody when there are issues that need to be corrected. I have been working with this company on/off for over a year trying to fix issues with water entering our chimney and it still hasn't been fully corrected. A different tech comes out almost every visit which makes the process difficult.

Mary, the lady with whom one will speak upon calling the company, is so sweet. Pat, my technician, was ridiculously knowledgeable about chimneys. He analyzed everything that he could about my chimneys. He repaired them, and was very helpful!

Excellent experience today with Pat from Fireplace Pros! He cleaned, checked up and did general maintenance to our fireplace. Was on time, clean & professional, laid down drop cloths, cleaned everything up and showed me what he'd done. I highly recommend them!

After a terrible experience with another company we hired Fireplace Professionals to make repairs to our chimney. They made the repairs as promised and we have not had water leaking into our fireplace since.

We had trouble finding a company willing to come out to our property since we live in such a rural area. I was overjoyed to finally find a business who would service our area and scheduled an appointment right away. Unfortunately, the technician never showed up. I called the next day to find out what happened and they were very apologetic and got another appointment scheduled for this Friday. I didn't get a very clear answer as to why our first appointment didn't work out - I guess I'll rearrange my work schedule again this week in hopes that someone shows up this time. At least the person I talked

I had a great experience with Jerry and Pat. They were both courteous and professional, did great work and explained everything they found in the inspection.
