In 1960, Virgil Knowlton started what is now known as V.K.Knowlton Construction, with only a model D motor grader and an old dump truck. Through persistence and perseverance Virgil set the model for the company as it is known today. Integrity, honesty and attention to detail and schedule became what the V.K.Knowlton Company would be and is still known for today.
V.K.'s two sons, President Scott Knowlton and Vice President Sam Knowlton, were raised on these valued business and family principles and continue the family tradition of V.K.Knowlton today. My father has been looking for the grave marker of his grandfather for decades! We recently noticed that there was new construction in the area we believed the location was. (San Antonio’s south east side off of WW White rd). We noticed a VK Knowlton sign and approached the workers on site. My dad was able to speak with Vincent, a heavy machine operator at the site. He took my dads number and said he would talk with his supervisor and see if he could help. Honestly I assumed that was it and we hit another dead end. But to our surprise and endless gratitude, He did exactly that. That same day
