Services
Our office is located at 23456 Hawthorne Blvd., Suite 270, Torrance, CA 90505. We are in the Skypark office complex. Our building is not directly on Hawthorne Blvd. We are located in Skypark Building #5. Our building is behind the buildings with the Olive Garden and TGI Fridays restaurants. There is a 2 story parking structure behind these buildings.
If you have had orthotics or braces made in the past, please bring them in even if you do not wear or do not like them. This will help doctor find out what has worked or not worked for you. We strive to stay on schedule and understand your time is extremely valuable. New patients may require as much as 60 minutes for their initial evaluation depending on their condition.
Dr. Anavian has extensive experience and training in the care of children's foot problems. During his residency, Dr. Anavian was the Chief Resident for the Baja Project for Crippled Children and was responsible for running the Baja Projects clinics in Tijuana and Mexicali, Mexico. He received extensive training in pediatric surgery of the foot and ankle as well as conservative care of pediatric deformities and pathology.
Custom made functional orthotics are one of the most valuable tools available in podiatry to combat foot pain and keep patient's active and pain free. Many times, custom made orthoses help patients avoid the need for more invasive treatments like surgery. The type of orthotics that are made by this office are unlike anything you can buy in a store.
Did you know the foot has 26 bones, 33 joints, 107 ligaments, 19 muscles, and numerous tendons? These parts all work together to allow the foot to move in a variety of ways while balancing your weight and propelling you forward or backward on even or uneven surfaces. It is no wonder that 75 percent of all Americans will experience foot problems at one point or another in their lifetimes.

Dr. Anavian is OK, intent on driving business toward a particular shoe outlet, offering a discount coupon to do so. I don't have a problem with that, if you connect with your Dr., ok.
My real concern is his wife/receptionist. She is unbearable in her condescending demeanor. A patient entering their door is not welcome; while reading the many posted bills a new patient will understand my meaning. The signage is less at a maximum security prison.
Sadly, there is no sense of caring or healing taking place in this office. Rather, I felt disdain and a sense of disgust from the receptionist/wife at

I had the absolute horrific experience with this dr. did not listen to a word I said about my specific symptoms. I said my toe hurt, he immediately jumped to the conclusion it was an ingrown toenail, even tho there were absolutely no indication of one. I was treated 3 times as they insisted I was was wrong. My fault for not sticking to my guns that is was some other issue. What kind of podiatrist misdiagnosis something as simple as an ingrown toenail. Went to another podiatrist outside of my insurance network and was diagnosed with neuropathy, which made perfect sense given my medical situation

So I just called to check on my referral and the person that I spoke with was EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE! Neither answer my question, and HUNG UP on me. seems like she really loves her job and she’s very good with people! I haven’t even been at the doctor office, but I’m not sure if I will after this.

Very high billing and unclear receptionist. Disrespectful, no type of customer service from the front desk. Katsuka said to me, "what's your point?" when I was asking her questions about my confusing & unreasonably high bill. Billing department told me to speak to her. Then she says she can only talk to my father about the bill because we get insurance through his employer. I am an adult, I have dealt with insurance and medical professionals throughout the years, and never has anyone demanded to speak to him regarding billing issues. My entire family and I will no longer visit

The doctor and the receptionist/nurse are great but the billing company they use is horrible. Every time I receive their bill, it is so hard to understand in terms of how much is adjusted from which line. When I call the billing office, they usually say they billed wrongly and have to re-bill it with a higher price. What they mean is they want to reward me by billing me more because I called and asked them. Horrible. A good billing company/system makes a big difference in terms of reducing stress. I don't mind paying as is but I don't want to pay for what I don't understand.

I thought Dr. Anavian was great. He was extremely professional, responsive, attentive and quick! I had an ingrown toenail and he had to numb my toe and remove it. The procedure was super fast, nearly painless and extremely clean. I healed very well and without any complications. I will be going back to get my toenail permanently removed. :-)
I didn't have a problem with the receptionist either. She was courteous, nice, and informed the doctor right away that I was there.
I also didn't experience any problems with my insurance.
Overall good quality of service!

A few weeks ago I took my brother to his appointment with this Doctor Anavian as I have for a few years now. My brother has several health issues and was assigned to see this doctor for the cutting and trimming of his toe nails and any concerns referring his legs, feet and toes. On his recent visit I went upstairs with my brother and waited for him while he went in to wait for the doctor. I was reading a magazine when I suddenly heard a man yelling screaming so loud!!! I didn’t think much of it if anything ( impossible that a doctor would yell at a patient ) I though maybe he was upset at one

Decent doctor in terms of service for my daughter, though their pricing is pretty high. My reason for the 1 star is due to their billing and information provided by the doctor's office (his wife) about insurance. They promised me that my insurance would cover half while half was out of pocket. Not ideal but liveable. Then I get a bill for the full amount and am told that insurance did not cover it. To make matter worse, they sent the bill over to a collection agency while still trying to dispute the billing with their office. Very unprofessional how they handled things. If you do decide

Dr Anavian is extremely professional and knowledegable while at the same time treating his patients with respect.
I find that when I go to his office, it's more like a family visit than just another doctor's appointment.
In my opinion Dr Anavian is the best podiatrist in the whole state of california.
