I realized that I wanted something different out of my career when my wife and I were over at a friend's house. I cooked for them while everyone sat around their kitchen island. As I was interacting with them and sharing my knowledge and passion about cooking with them, I knew instantly that this was it.

Small businesses need a voice in government. Your vote holds your local and national leaders responsible for the decisions they make and sends a message about the issues you think are important. Elected officials make all sorts of decisions that can directly affect you and your employees.
The President and Congress you elect decide whether to raise or lower taxes, make economic policies with implications for your business, and decide when or if to use military force.Local elections can have an even more immediate and personal effect on you, your lifestyle, and your community. Make a difference for your business and community by voting in Pennsylvania.

Starting and growing a business requires extensive planning, preparation and hard-work. You will have many questions as you go through the process of starting, running, or growing your business. But before you speak with a professional SBDC consultant, or attend an SBDC educational event, you may want to explore certain topics your own.
Rapid growth is tempting and exciting, but it can also be a costly trap that can lead to expensive problems rather than continued success. Because you have been successful, you have established a level of quality and an overall vision for your company that identifies your brand and is something in which you take pride.
How can you tell if the business is a genuine going concern or if it is someone else's discard? What should you look for? How do you check it out? What should you offer for the business? What are the trade-offs between price and terms? How can you tell if the owner really wants to sell, is just testing the waters, or hopes to catch fool?

Just called SBA of Gannon University to obtain information on help with a business plan i put together and asked a simple question if they have services available in helping with typing it up and the operator was rude and unprofessional. Before I could explain my need in support...she said call back next week between the hours of operation and have good day. Then hung up very promptly. So much for the values the SBA holds AND The standards of help. Gee...thanks!
