The sacroiliac joints (SI joints) connect the base of the spine (sacrum) to the hip bone (ilium) on both sides of the body. Their primary function is to provide stabilization, support and shock absorption during movements like walking and bending over. Additionally, they transfer all the weight from the upper body to the lower body during movement.
A bulging disc is a back condition that affects the intervertebral spinal discs. Spinal discs cushion and support vertebrae, provide shock absorption and enable flexible bending and twisting movement in the spine. Discs are made of a tough, fibrous outer ring of ligaments (the annulus fibrosus) that protects a soft, jelly-like core (the nucleus pulposus).
Degenerative disc disease is not really a "disease, " but a condition that develops naturally with age. It occurs when wear and tear on one or more spinal discs causes back or neck pain and symptoms. Almost every adult experiences some kind of disc degeneration with age, but not everyone develops pain, weakness, instability and other symptoms.
Facet disease - also called facet syndrome - describes degeneration of the facet joints in the spine. Facet joints connect vertebrae and they work with the intervertebral discs to provide support, stabilization, shock absorption and flexible movement within the spine. Like other joints in the body, facet joints are covered with smooth, tough cartilage that enables frictionless movement.

I was involved in a car accident back in Aug, 2019 and was referred by pain management to Integrity. Dr. Weiss and team are wonderful! I have nothing but gratitude for them Dr. Weiss has been treating my condition for over a year and he is always ready to answer all my questions even when some treatments were a little hard to understand. He always find the way to explain big terms in a simple way possible. They’re also very respectful. I had to make a big decision about a surgery and they give me the time to think about it until I was ready. They also explained the procedure over and over with
