Ensuring you get the right material for your lenses is just as important as making sure your prescription is correct. At LensFactory, we offer one of the widest assortment of materials including Plastic, Polycarbonate, High-Index and Glass. Offering a wide selection of lenses for just about every vision need, LensFactory has got you covered.
You need single vision lenses if you're either nearsighted or farsighted but not both. Single vision lenses can also correct for astigmatism if needed. An easy way to determine if you need single vision lenses is to look at the ADD column of your prescription. If there are not any numbers in the ADD column of your prescription, then you need single vision lenses and you're in the right place.
Plastic or CR39 is as close to glass in clarity that you can get. It's the most cost effective solution, and very easy to tint. With plastic lenses, you will generally have thicker or heavier lenses than using Polycarbonate ("Poly"). Plastic is easy to scratch, crack or shatter. Plastic lenses can't be used with drill mounted or semi-rimless frames.
Glass has the highest clarity and greatest optical quality due to it's high ABBE value. With no coatings it is very scratch resistant. Glass is heavier than it's plastic or polycarbonate counterparts, however many believe it is worth it for the crystal clear vision you can receive with a glass lens.

Just got off the phone with Andrea, with Lens Factory and if the rest of the company is as professional and on-point as she was, then I know this is going to be a great experience.
My hingeless, titanium Silhouettes have been collecting dust >2 years because each of 4 companies (including the original seller) have refused to use my perfectly good (and expensive) frames in a new pair of glasses.
Luckily, I found Lens Factory and am glad to have a chance at another "dance" with the best frames I've ever owned.
Just placed the order, so I will post a follow up with the end results.

They just lost my business! I used chat yesterday to ask about which of their many progressive lenses would be best for my strong (at least +6) prescription and got back a generic response linking the most popular progressive that isn’t appropriate for my prescription. They are clearly not experts in lenses, and Costco or Kaiser Permanente are both less expensive for my hi-index progressive.

I have had to replace my glasses more than once a year for several years. The scratch-resistant finishes on polycarbonate lenses have been no match to my general klutziness. In a last-ditch effort to stay with glasses (instead of contacts), I decided to have LensFactory replace my scratched-up polycarbonate lenses with glass lenses. I just received them today, and they are perfect. I didn't have a copy of my prescription for progressive (multifocal) lenses, but they used the old lenses to create the new ones and I can't tell the difference. I bought a pair of frames online and then sent them to Lens Factory with my prescription. I got them back within a week and they did an amazing job! Plus their customer service was great! They answered my emails quickly and event sent me an email to tell me when they were completed and being mailed out. I would leave a zero if I could! Absolutely terrible!! Do not I repeat do not order from this site!!! Scam! First they are rude! Secondly, I ordered glasses, they sent me a complete wrong prescription, then second delivery was even worse! They didn’t deliver what was promised. Wrong prescription again, I have been without glasses for a month, I can’t see and all they can say is “we apologize” stop apologizing and fix the problem!!!

I cannot say enough good things about working with LensFactory. The customer service representative was excellent. I called her back three times with three questions and she was very nice and informative each time. The process of sending your glasses to the factory is foolproof (they send you a box) and the pricing was beyond fair.
What led me to LensFactory in the first place is that I have always had glass lenses in my reading glasses. Recently I moved and went to a new optometrist who told me they don't make glass lenses in the US. Surprise! LensFactory is the only one who makes them.

I have had many pairs of glasses/sunglasses made by LensFactory over the last 10 years. I have watched the company grow up and have benefitted from their efforts at continuous improvement. I have had a few problems over the years but they have always made things right. The quality is first rate and the price is a fraction of what you pay at the optometrist.

I typically never write reviews, but I am really dissatisfied with their lenses and I would recommend going elsewhere. I've ordered from them twice, and both times I've had to return or exchange the lenses because they've either forgot to read order notes correctly or I received the lenses back scratched. Also, like another individual posted, I received my glasses back very crooked, as if someone sat on them.

On Apr 04/15/17 at 12:09 PM I purchased a Brand new pair of Maui Jim Kona Sunglasses w/Rose Polarized Lenses Model #451-23. I bought these sunglasses to replace the pair that I was currently wearing (which were exactly the same with RX lenses in them but they were a few years old and scratched.) I then sent the new Sunglasses to LensFactory to have them install simple single vision Brown RX lenses in them. I marked the stock Maui Jim Lenses with the PD centers for your tech's to use to make the new RX lenses, and left instructions to return the stock Rose colored(non-perscription) Maui

I guess the thing that i enjoyed the most was their customer care. They are very responsive and they are quick. The other thing that i liked a lot was that i ordered a pair of lenses for my frame, once i got my frame back, the lenses were thicker than what i expected, i contacted them and they agreed to change it to a thinner kind and have me just pay the difference.
All in all it was a great experience and i am definitely go back to them for my eye wear needs.

I have used Lens Factory twice now. Easy, good service and a great product. My only constrcutive critisissm is they need an updated system for informing customers of their order. Once you send your eyeglasses in they never inform you that they've received them, or what stage in the process you order is. It would also be nice to get an estimated time of compilation. It took almost 3 weeks start to finish which is fine if I new what stage my order was at. Other than that, good stuff.

So... Last summer, I went to my local optimitrist who talked me into some fantastic, but expensive lenses. I hooked myself on the most expensive frames in the shop. Anywho, while I ended up paying over $400 NOT including insurance, she says to me, "If you don't purchase transition lenses, come back and we'll fit you for sunglasses." No. Ma'am.

I scratched a lens on my progressive glasses. Foureyes here in Massachusetts, where I purchased the glasses, wanted to charge me three times what LensFactory quoted. The service was excellent from the initial phone call to when I recieved my glasses back. The on line updates were great and every date was met or exceeded. Don't buy your glasses anywhere else.
