Pensacola offers some of the best diving in the Gulf of Mexico. There are hundreds of scuba diving sites in Pensacola: wrecks, natural reefs, artificial reefs, even the aircraft carrier USS Oriskany, all within a short boat ride of Pensacola Pass. With so many scuba diving locations, it's easy for the Niuhi to accommodate divers of all skill levels.
Let Captain Andy help you plan your next recreational, technical, or spearfishing dive aboard the Niuhi. We tailor your dive charter to the type of diving you like to do. Recreational and technical diving, sightseeing, spearfishing, lobster hunting, photography, night diving, wreck diving and scuba training.

Services
Andy Ross was raised in a military family and was fortunate enough to have lived in some pretty amazing places like the Philippines, Guam, and Hawaii. Captain Andy earned his first dive certification in Guam, and has since found his way under the waters of Honduras, Belize, Palau, Mexico, and of course the Pensacola Gulf Coast.
Please make sure your training and experience levels match the requirements for the type of charter you book. Niuhi Dive Charters offers three types of trips, Recreational, Technical, and Spearfishing. Recreational and Technical divers are permitted to dive on the same charter. Please give Captain Andy a call if you have any special trips in mind, and he can help you set something up.
The USS Oriskany (CV/CVA 34) was a US Navy Essex-class aircraft carrier purposefully sank about 25 miles Southeast of Pensacola Pass. At 911ft long, 148ft wide and 129ft tall, it's difficult to appreciate the size of the USS Oriskany until you actually dive it. The Island, in it's current state, consists of eight decks stretching from the Flight Deck at 146ft to the 011 Tower Deck at 84ft.
Captain Andy's Federal reef fishing permit allows Niuhi customers to spearfish in state and federal waters. Niuhi customers do not need their own fishing license as they will be covered by the boat's permit. While most other Pensacola boats are restricted to state waters, the Niuhi can take you further and deeper to where the big fish really are.

The best dive operation you’re going to find in Pensacola. I live in the Fl Keys and work on a dive boat. Niuhi is the only company I recommend my divers to in Pensacola. Captain Andy and good old what’s his face from Canada run a tight ship. The boat is clean, safe, and reliable book with these guys for sure.

What a great company to dive with! Capt Andy communicated quickly when the weather turned and canceled our trip. The day of the dive on the USS Oriskany, Capt Andy and DM Adam were very professional and helpful. I’m so glad I did my first Oriskany dive with them! Will def be back! Keep up the good work!

Captain of the boat is also an experienced dive master and is dedicated to making sure your trip is safe and enjoyable. Dive master is a great guy who takes the safety of his clients seriously. He is also Canadian and has heard every possible joke about that already. A 3/2 wetsuit is barely adequate in the summer and not adequate for late spring.

I had an amazing time diving with Niuhi Dive Charters. Spent 4 days in a row with 2 dives diving with them. The Niuhi Team’s professionalism and knowledge of the dive sites made for some very nice diving. Diving the Mighty O (I highly recommend this dive) the crew made tying in the dive boat to the Mighty O in ruff water look like it was a simple task. The dive briefings were informative and the crew took time at the end of each dive briefing to answer questions. During my dives over the 4 days I spent with Niuhi Dive Charters, the crew was able to identify good spots for the spear fishermen
