Unlike many, we can proudly say that we've offered quality services throughout Napa Valley for five generations. In 1949, our company was founded by Dave McLean who offered drilling services to our customers with well location found through witching; skillfully done by Uncle Les. Once of age, his son Harold McLean worked alongside him learning the trait and becoming immersed in the industry.

With more than 60 years of experience drilling water wells in the Napa Valley and it's surrounding counties our customers are sure to find confidence in our expert drilling team.
Since 1949 our Pump department has been servicing and installing quality water systems throughout the Napa Valley and its surrounding areas. When working with our experienced team, customers have confidence that our company will work alongside them from start to finish. Our technicians are diversely skilled, trained and regularly recognized by clients for their professionalism and workmanship.
As water wells age, production may decrease due to plugging and casing deterioration. In many instances, well rehabilitation can improve water quality and increase well yield saving customers the expense of constructing a new well or installing a new storage tank and booster system.
In most situations, well relining can provide protection from deterioration or collapsing due to underground movement; though there are circumstances making this option impossible.Our specialized team will work alongside our customers in attempt to rehabilitate or reline their well. When all options are exhausted, our team will work with customers in finding the next viable solution.

How do you pick the best location to drill a well on my property? Many factors play a role in deciding on a new well location. Commonly, property setbacks limit us to a drilling location that can accommodate all the equipment necessary to construct a well. We also consider the proximity to utilities in attempt to reduce the installation cost of the pumping system.

McLean & Williams have been providing excellent service on my existing well for over 10 years. They have always provided timely, professional service. So when my existing well started to fail I went to them for a new one. They provided a quote and arrived at my site. Jamie and Bryan worked through rainy weather and in less than a week I had a new well. They kept me informed on every step. I cannot recommend McLean & Williams more highly.

We had McLean Williams drill a new well on our property in St Helena at the end of 2019. We selected McLean-Williams based on their competitive prices, excellent customer ratings and Gonzalo's can-do attitude. After the confusion of the Covid shutdowns had cleared, the MW crew completed the drilling quickly, hitting the target volume of water at the predicted depth. Then, the Glass fire hit in Sept 2020 and we lost water multiple times due to power being off and later because of a shorted circuit. Each time, Gonzalo responded within a day to keep my water flowing. This guy takes care of his customers

Gonzalo was very responsive to our emergent needs after the Glass Fire and came up to assess the damage, make suggestions, coordinate sub-contractor needed to complete the rebuilding of a devastated water infrastructure. The work was completed on time with a great crew willing to go the extra mile to make our water flow once again. Katie was a master in communication and made sure that there wasn't any gaps in communicating with Gonzalo and the crew on site. McLean and Williams are my well and pump people from now on. Search no further.

My water went out on Thursday late afternoon. Called McW and they have a live person answer the phone. They’ve been servicing my well for over 15 years and came out about 2 hours later to investigate the cause. The next day they were out with a rig and made the fix. This is old-world service and that’s what I’m looking for now more than ever. And prices are very fair. Gonzalo runs several good teams and they all execute well. Jose was professional, thorough and made sure everything was cleaned up at the completion of work.

Living in the country and relying on a well can be kind of a precarious and frustrating experience sometimes. You depend on a good producing well and lot of different equipment operating properly. Gonzalo and his team are extremely knowledgeable, very prompt and responsive and above all they are very fair in their pricing. I haven't worked with any other firms in the valley but I can say that McLean and Williams should definitely be firm that you consider strongly. They have been a great firm to work with.

For the last 10 years we have had McLean & Williams do all of our work for our small community water system (100 homes). From well relining to new pumping systems, Gonzalo and his team have always been very responsive and done great work, sometimes under very tight time frames.
But nothing approached what they did after the August 2014 Earthquake. Our Water System suffered a catastrophic loss of our 4,000 gallon pressure tank, the tank walked of its foundation, shearing off the main distribution lines at ground level and we suffered a complete loss of pressure. This all happened at 3am on Sunday

We have had McLean and Williams take care of our pump repairs, install new pumps in wells, and even had them drill a new well for us recently. I have never have had any issues with them and they make it a priority if you have an emergency and have a prompt response time. I think you get a really good value for what you pay for, and again I really am a fan of there responsiveness because that is important to us.
