Sonny was able to come to our residence and make major changes to existing electrical work to prepare for a solar install. We then asked him to help us with the electrical in a new build to residence and the work was done complete with updates along the way and recommendations of things to think through. Then I added an additional project of wiring my house for data with a small network closet.

I've used Sonny Rios two times , for 3 different issues. All three issues had intermittent (ghost like) electrical issues that needed investigation. We didn't know if it was major or minor. Sonny came in and figured it out, fixed and tested all 3 issues. My bill was very fair. A dishonest person could have gotten me for thousands more!!
My home is a money pit that will unfortunately need more SJ Rios electrical services. Its nice to know I have an honest Electrician.

So glad that we found Sonny. We just bought an older home that needed some minor electrical work done to repair a bad outlet, add dimmers, and install a new outlet.
Sonny promptly returned my phone call, came out and took a look at what needed to be done, and then made an appointment to return and get the work done.
He was super conscientious about covering his shoes and putting down drop cloths to keep our house clean. I'm also giving him 5 stars because he is not the type of person who will come into your home and try to up-sell you on unnecessary work.
We will definitely be using him

Just moved into an old craftsmen that needed some TLC, new outlets, light fixtures, fans, dedicated lines to basement sump pump, etc. including new HDMI outlets customized for my 50" flat screen TV installed on a wall unit over the fireplace. Considering the existing wires is a mix of old and new, there was Lots to do!

The level of service required to succeed in the Yelp economy is unfairly high, but Sonny clears the bar no sweat.
We called him during the Super Bowl, and he called us right back when the game was over. He was willing to come over on Sunday evening. He was prompt and extremely professional. His prices are competitive.
When it turned out the motherboard on the heater had fritzed out, he had a contact who could also come the same day and bring a new part.

I had a whole snarl of wires in my 1930's house, a real tangle of electrical mayhem that had mounted up over the years and throughout many different ownerships. The old breaker box was at the breaking point. Seriously. Sonny put order to the mess. I can sleep better at night now knowing that the work has been done properly. He knows what he's doing, is neat 'n clean (that counts for his work as well) and is very efficient.
Why would I use anyone else?!!

Mr. Rios has just completed two days of work on our place.
Day 1 was removing old ceiling fan/light assemblies that had been installed - not up to code - by the previous owner. Mr. Rios got us on track with new installs that are up to code.
Day 2 was replacing a 1960s breaker box with something that now meets our current demands with room to grow, as needed.
Mr. Rios has been our go-to guy for electrical work for several years and has been instrumental in correcting many issues left by a poor DIY former owner.
We look forward to many pleasant years in the house.

My first experience with Electrician, and it was such a joy to work with Sonny!! He showed his professional in many ways:
- Came right on time
- My issue is a bit complicated and he knows exactly what to do during the troubleshooting, quickly fixed the problem and cleaned up everything after the job was done
- Very reasonable price compare to other Electricians in the area
- I made a mistake when i put the panel back that caused another issue, and he came back after working hours and and fixed that for FREE!!
I wish I could give 6 stars!

I called SJ Rios Electric (they were referred by our neighbor) because we moved into a home where some of the light switches seemed to do absolutely nothing. Not sure how the damn building passed city inspection but something was terribly wrong. In addition, some of our lights would randomly flicker or just go out without explanation. Changing the bulbs didn't work. Then sometimes the lights would randomly come back on. Ridiculous!

We are smack dab in the middle of having a new roof installed... and this morning at 7am we spoke with the guys putting a new roof on our home (since it was raining, it was a urgent call) ...seems that there was a light fixture in the way of a sun tunnel we were hoping to have them install.
The roofers couldn't move it, and said we'd need a licensed electrician. Where would we find an electrician so quickly???
